Andras Nemeth raised to 1,250 at the end of the previous level and was called by Joao "naturalMENTE" Simao and Kevin Martin. Mark Radoja three-bet to 7,100 in the big blind and picked up calls from Simao and Martin. On the flop, Radoja continued for 8,900 and was called both ways.
The turn was checked by the trio and that sent them three ways to the river. Radoja activated his time bank and bet 13,700, neither of his opponents was willing to pay that and the Canadian raked in the pot.
Arnaud Enselme raised to 1,250 from the button and was called by Dominik Nitsche in the small blind. Tan "tan4321" Xuan three-bet to 6,200 from the big blind for Enselme to take some time and then four-bet to 18,300. Nitsche got out of their way and Xuan four-bet to 37,465. Enselme responded with a five-bet shove for 99,010 which Xuan called.

The flop came for Xuan to hit the higher pair but it also gave Enselme the nut-flush draw.
The turn was the for Enselme to hit the flush indeed to leave Xuan short as the completed the board. Xuan lost the remainder the hand after.
Nikita "FatGarry" Kupchin raised to 1,250 from under the gun and was called by Manig Loeser from one seat over. Ravali "Resurge-" Krishna three-bet to 4,950 and Sevket "Holidaywer" Ayaksiz called in the cutoff only for Kupchin to then make it 19,400 to go. Krishna and Ayaksiz called and they headed to a three-way flop of on which Kupchin bet 15,525 and Krishna was the only caller.
The turn was checked and the fell on the river. Kupchin bet 41,250 and called the shove of Krishna for 64,955 total with the for aces full. Krishna had also flopped a set with and became the first casualty of the day.
Kevin Martin raised to 1,400 on the button and Adrian Mateos three-bet to 5,930 in the big blind, which Martin called. A continuation bet for 3,000 on the flop by Mateos resulted in a call and the turn was checked through.
Mateos then bet the river for 9,295 and Martin used a portion of the time bank before making the call with the , which ended up second best to the of Mateos.
Fedor Holz raised to 1,250 on the button and Jack Salter three-bet to 5,500 in the small blind, which Holz called. On a flop of , Salter checked and Holz won the pot with a bet of 5,990.
In the very next hand, Abhinav "OBellaCiao" Iyer raised to 1,250 and Aaron Van Blarcum came along in the hijack, as did Salter on the button. The action checked to Van Blarcum on the flop and he bet 3,690, only Salter called. The duo checked the turn and Van Blarcum bet the river for 9,225.
Salter called with for jacks and fours but Van Blarcum had the best hand with for jacks and tens.
The cards are in the air for the most-expensive tournament of the festival and 136 players are registered, however, that number is expected to grow significantly in the hours to come.

The eight-handed tournament will feature a late registration of four and a half hours, and during the same period all players can also re-enter a maximum of two times if they wish to do so after running out of chips.
One and a half hours prior to the start, more than 100 players were already registered including the GGPoker ambassadors Fedor Holz, Felipe Ramos and Daniel Negreanu. Day 1 of this prestigious event will burst the money bubble and continue from there to play down to the nine-handed final table, at which time the tournament is paused. Six days later on Saturday, August 29th, 2020, the final nine will return to their seats as of 6 p.m. GMT to play down to a champion.
