Holz, Reixach, Botteon, and Kahyaoglu Advance to Semi-Finals of Event #79: $25,000 Heads-Up

One of the three novelty tournaments of the GGPoker WSOP Online Bracelet Events was on the schedule today with the popular vote going for a heads-up tournament. Event #79: $25,000 Heads Up NLHE attracted 127 entries, just one short of the maximum to create a total prize pool of $3,111,500 which means eight players would get paid.

The first player to earn his spot in the semi-finals which will take place on Sunday was Spanish poker star Sergi Reixach. This will be his tenth cash in the online WSOP series and his biggest to date as he finished in third place on the $10,000 Short Deck Championship. He also cashed in the previous heads-up tournament where he busted in the Round of 16.

Reixach will be facing another legend in the game, GGPoker Ambassador Fedor Holz. Holz might not have been around as much over the past years as he sort of retired, he still comes out to battle for the special series and high roller events. With over $32.5 million in live cashes, the $1,077,025 first-place prize here would fit in nicely on his already lengthy poker resume.

Final Four in Event #79
The Semi-Finals Bracket

Over on the other side of the bracket, Brunno Botteon has already collected at least ten online WSOP cashes and the online grinder needs to win one more match to surpass his best result as he finished in sixth place in the $25,000 NLHE POKER PLAYERS CHAMPIONSHIP last Saturday. With the $311,150 all four players have secured, Botteon will have won almost $700,000 over a few days at the minimum.

Botteon will be taking on Oktay Kahyaoglu who is relatively unknown compared to the rest. With one cash in the Mini Main Event for $1,356 and almost $17,000 in cashes on the live circuit according to The Hendon Mob, the Turkish player is looking to upset some people.
