Owen Swinging Up Then Down

Niveau 8 : 500/1,000, 125 ante
Adam Owen
Adam Owen

Adam Owen opened under the gun, one player called, then Scott Margereson three-bet to 7,490 in the small blind. Owen peeled and they saw a {q-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{q-Spades} flop. Margereson bet 4,300 and Owen called. Both players checked the {a-Clubs}, bringing a {10-Spades}. Owen crammed for 31K, a bit over the pot.

Margereson decided to look him up with {k-Clubs}{k-Hearts} but Owen had the goods: {q-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}.

A few hands later, Owen opened and called a shove from a player with 15K. This time, he had worse odds and worse luck as his {5-}{5-} couldn't overcome {8-}{8-}.

September has arrived and the time to win World Series of Poker bracelets is running thin. Luckily for poker players on GGPoker, an event that can fit into many bankrolls is on the docket: Event #80: People's Choice Event [Pros Vote].

The voters have spoken and it will be $600 No-Limit Hold'em 6-Handed that determines today's bracelet winner.

Everyone who pays up that amount gets a 25K starting stack with blinds beginning at 100/200/25. They'll play 15-minute levels until someone winds up with all of the chips, with up to two reentries allowed per player. They'll have 3 1/2 hours to use those reentries.

Despite the six-handed format most of the way, the final table will be nine-handed with real names used.

Already, more than 100 players are registered with more than two hours to go until game time. Some of those early birds include George Wolff, Galen Hall, Simon Higgins, Nick Marchington, Belarmino De Souza, Chris Moorman and Steven van Zadelhoff. Stay tuned to PokerNews starting at 2 p.m. EDT to find out if one of these, or someone else, emerges as the latest bracelet winner on GGPoker.
