MacPhee Eliminates "the_chef" as Play Inches Closer to the Money Bubble

Niveau 19 : 3,000/6,000, 0 ante

"the_chef" opened for 13,500 from middle position and Kevin "ImaLuckSac" MacPhee defended his big blind to see a {5-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{k-Clubs} flop.

MacPhee check-jammed for 93,761 after "the_chef" continued for 30,000 and "the_chef" called for less holding 85,260.

"the_chef": {a-Spades}{k-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{3-Spades}
Kevin "ImaLuckSac" MacPhee: {k-Spades}{k-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}

MacPhee flopped the case king for a set but the {j-Hearts} turn gave him a sweat as "the_chef" now held straight and flush draws.

Luckily for MacPhee, "the_chef" bricked the river as it came the {4-Spades} ending their tournament as players inch closer to the money.

Rocha the Penultimate Bubble Boy

Niveau 19 : 3,000/6,000, 0 ante
Alex Rocha
Alex Rocha

Hand-for-hand play was instituted two off the money, which is when Alex "RIP_neiko" Rocha raised all in for 14,229 and "pancakesyrup" isolated by making it 51,687 to go from the button. Both blinds folded and Rocha discovered the bad news.

Alex "RIP_neiko" Rocha: {k-Hearts}{k-Clubs}{q-Hearts}{4-Spades}
"pancakesyrup": {a-Spades}{a-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}

"pancakesyrup" was ahead with aces, which turned into top set on the {9-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}{a-Clubs}{2-Diamonds} runout. Rocha was eliminated in 101st place, which means just one more player needs to leave empty-handed before the top 99 players are in the money.

WSOP Legend: Doyle Brunson's Final Bracelet, 15 Years Later

Niveau 21 : 5,000/10,000, 0 ante
Doyle Brunson
Doyle Brunson

At the beginning of the 2005 WSOP, Doyle Brunson remained the co-king of the all-time bracelet count, tied along with Johnny Chan at nine. However, as the series drew toward its close in late June, that was no longer the case — Chan had overtaken him by winning No. 10 to stand atop the mountain alone.

Brunson was already phasing out his tournament play, having cashed precisely zero times that summer and just three times in the previous two combined, although one had resulted in a bracelet victory.

When it came time for Event #31: $5,000 No-Limit Hold'em 6-Handed, Brunson dusted off his tournament chops and made a run.

For the a more thorough look on Brunson's historic 10th bracelet win, click the link below.

Ian "APokerJoker2" Steinman opened for 25,000 from middle position and "mamadzx" three-bet to 80,000 from the big blind.

Action was back on Steinman who put his last 117,892 in the middle and "mamadzx" snap-called.

"mamadzx": {a-Hearts}{a-Clubs}{8-Spades}{5-Diamonds}
Ian "APokerJoker2" Steinman: {k-Hearts}{q-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}

Steinman was behind but he picked up the flush draw with the {j-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{4-Hearts} flop.

There wasn't much of a sweat for Steinman as he completed his flush with the {2-Hearts} on the turn and the {5-Clubs} river secured his double-up.
