Big Slick Does Not Do the Trick for Jeff Platt

Jeff Platt
Jeff Platt

With the blinds at 1,000/2,000/250, WSOP bracelet winner Owais "Oerockets" Ahmed moved all in for 24,089 from early position and poker commentator Jeff "mavsusc" Platt jammed for just 17 more from middle position. The rest of the players folded and the hands were turned up.

Owais "Oerockets" Ahmed: {a-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}
Jeff "mavsusc" Platt: {a-Hearts}{k-Hearts}

Platt was primed to double, but that all changed when the {2-Clubs}{q-Spades}{j-Clubs} flop paired Ahmed. Neither the {7-Diamonds} turn nor {2-Spades} river helped Platt and he was left with crumbs.

Platt was all in for the ante the next hand and won, but no comeback was in the cards as he busted the hand after that.

Zobian Toasts "AvidSmores"

Aram Zobian
Aram Zobian

With the blinds at 600/1,200/150, David "AvidSmores" Somers jammed for 7,759 from the hijack, and Aram "X69Podheiser" Zobian three-bet shoved from the button, chasing out the blinds.

David "AvidSmores" Somers: {k-Spades}{9-Clubs}
Aram "X69Podheiser" Zobian: {a-Hearts}{j-Spades}

The {2-Clubs}{a-Spades}{9-Spades} flop kept Zobian in the lead with a pair of aces, but Somers picked up the nut flush draw on the {4-Spades} turn, giving him any spade, king or nine to survive. The {j-Hearts} river gave Zobian two-pair instead, and Somers re-entered.
