Set Over Set Earns Former WSOP Main Event Champ Riess a Double

Niveau 1 : 20/40, 0 ante
Ryan Riess
Ryan Riess

Jennifer "Bella0827" Noone raised to 120 from under the gun, and was called by Norman "Abnormality" Michalek in the cutoff and "Kaykook" in the small blind. 2013 WSOP Main Event champion Ryan "BiTC0iN" Riess three-bet to 700 from the big blind, and only Noone called.

Riess bet 1,230 on a {q-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{10-Spades} flop, and Noone called.

The {5-Diamonds} fell on the turn, and Riess bet 4,500. Noone made the call again.

Riess slowed down with a check on the {10-Hearts} river, and Noone bet 9,825. Riess check-raised all in for 13,490, and Noone called with {8-Spades}{8-Diamonds} for eights-full. Riess was on the right side of a cooler, however, and his {q-Spades}{q-Clubs} for queens-full earned the former Main Event champ a full double.

Michalek Can't Shake "Kaykook"

Niveau 1 : 20/40, 0 ante

Norman "Abnormality" Michalek raised to 120 from the cutoff, and "Kaykook" three-bet to 400 from the small blind. Michalek called.

"Kaykook" bet 420 on the {9-Spades}{3-Hearts}{10-Clubs} flop, and Michalek called.

The {7-Hearts} fell on the turn, and "Kaykook" checked. Michalek fired out a pot-sized bet of 1,680, and "Kaykook" called.

"Kaykook" checked again on the {10-Hearts} river, and Michalek bet 1,900. "Kaykook" called with {q-Hearts}{q-Spades}, which bested the {a-Clubs}{q-Clubs} of Michalek.

Welcome to Event #9: $1,000 No-Limit Hold'em 6-Max

WSOP Logo
WSOP Logo

The 2020 Online World Series of Poker continues today with Event #9: $1,000 No-Limit Hold'em 6-Max, which kicks off at 3 p.m. PDT.

Players will start with 20,000 in chips, and blinds will kick off at 25/50 and increase every 15 minutes. Players who bust out can re-enter twice, and late registration and re-entries are available for three hours and fifty-five minutes. Tournament tickets may not be used on re-entries.

This is a single day event meaning the entire tournament will be played out online, and the winner will take home a WSOP Gold Bracelet.

Robert "BustinBalls" Kuhn nearly took down his second WSOP Bracelet of this young series yesterday, falling in fourth place in Event #8: $500 No-Limit Hold'em Freezeout. Alan "GladiusIII" Goehring was able to add a WSOP Bracelet to a long list of poker accomplishments with his victory over Ross "BlueTang" Gottlieb in heads-up action. We expect to see all three players back in action today in the chase for WSOP gold.

This is the ninth of 85 bracelet events being held on WSOP.com (31 events – one each day for the month of July) and GG Poker (holding the remaining 54 events).

The former client will cater to players in Nevada and New Jersey (players in Delaware are NOT able to participate), while the latter will serve the international base.

How To Play

The first step in getting set up to play on WSOP.com is to download the client. You can do so for both mobile (Android and iOS) and desktop (Windows 7 or higher and Mac OS X 10.6.8).
