Badugi

James Woods eventually bowed down to the aggression of chip leader Jason Daly and dropped below three big bets. One hand later, Matthew Smith was forced all-in from the big blind. Carlos Rodriguez raised and Joao Vieira called.

Smith patted and Rodriguez took two, Vieira took one card. The Portuguese poker pro then bet and Rodriguez folded.

Vieira patted the next two draws, as did Smith, who announced a queen and flashed the {q-Spades} briefly. Vieira had that beat with the {7-Spades}{6-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{a-Hearts} for a Seven-Dugi and sent Smith to the rail in 18th place for $6,579.

Fuchs Doubles Through Gorodinsky

Niveau 20 : 20,000/40,000, 0 ante

Badugi

Carol Fuchs jammed for just 40,000 in the small blind and Mike Gorodinsky called from the big blind, admitting he had a really bad hand.

Fuchs took one card and Gorodinsky jokingly asked her "shall I take three or four? you decide," before discarding all four.

On the second draw, Fuchs stood pat while Gorodinsky took two new cards.

After the final draw, Gorodinsky took one more card and Fuchs showed her patted {9-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{5-Hearts}. Gorodinsky was sweating {7-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{a-Spades} but paired up with the {a-Clubs}.

2-7 Triple Draw

To balance the remaining 15 players, Carol Fuchs was moved tables and it was her big blind next. She faced the button raise by Venkata Tayi and the small blind call by Johannes Becker, then called all-in. It was a fair fight on the first draw as everyone discarded two cards. Becker bet and Tayi called.

On the second draw, Fuchs discarded another two while Tayi and Becker discarded one. Becker bet with one single T-5,000 chip behind and Tayi folded. The final draw saw a pat of Becker and Fuchs took one to sweat with a {6-}{3-}{2-}{a-}, Becker had the {6-}{5-}{4-}{3-}{2-} and Fuchs ended up pairing her {2-} to finish in 15th place for $6,579.

Woods Doubles Through Vieira

James Woods
James Woods

2-7 Triple Draw

At essentially the same time as Carol Fuchs ended up all-in, the same was also the case for James Woods as well albeit for more chips.

Woods ended up showing a made {10-}{8-}{5-}{4-}{2-} after the final draw while Vieira was sweating a {9-}{6-}{4-}{3-} draw. However, that one bricked as he paired up the six to keep Woods in contention.
