Drinan Catches Leng on the River

Niveau 27

Omaha 8 or Better

Connor Drinan raised from under the gun and got calls from Brett Shaffer to his left and Ryan Leng in the big blind. Shaffer bet the {9-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{4-Hearts} flop, and both Leng and Drinan called.

All three players checked the {j-Hearts} turn before Drinan bet the {9-Diamonds} river. Shaffer gave it some thought before folding, but Leng came back with a raise. Drinan called and Leng snap-mucked his cards as Drinan won the pot without a showdown.

Brett Shaffer
Brett Shaffer

Pot-Limit Omaha

Brett Shaffer raised to 55,000 from the button before Ryan Hughes re-raised to 200,000 from the small blind. Shaffer put in another raise to 549,000 and Hughes called.

Hughes shoved the {k-Clubs}{10-Spades}{6-Spades} flop and Shaffer called all in for his last 545,000. Hughes turned over {10-Hearts}{k-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{a-Diamonds} for two pair, kings and tens, while Shaffer had {a-Clubs}{j-Spades}{a-Hearts}{j-Clubs} for a pair of aces.

Shaffer was in danger of having his pocket aces cracked, but the {a-Spades} came on the turn to give him a set and the double up.

Zack Wins One, Loses One

Niveau 27

Limit Hold'em

Dan Zack raised and called a re-raised from Connor Drinan. On the {10-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} flop, Drinan bet, Zack raised, and Drinan called to see the {5-Diamonds} on the turn.

Zack bet and Drinan called. The same action repeated on the {4-Hearts} river as Zack showed {a-Hearts}{10-Diamonds} for flopped trip tens.

On the next hand, Zack and Ryan Hughes went heads-up to a flop of {3-Spades}{a-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}. Hughes bet and Zack called. Hughes bet again on the {q-Clubs} turn and again Zack called.

The river came {3-Hearts} and Hughes bet for the third time, with Zack calling. "Ace," Hughes said, showing {a-Clubs}{j-Diamonds} for a pair of aces that were good enough to win the pot.
