Thorpe Peels the River

Niveau 8

Seven Card Stud

Opponent: {x-}{x-} / {3-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{a-Diamonds}{6-Clubs} / {x-}
Mike Thorpe: {x-}{x-} / {4-Spades}{k-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{6-Spades} / {x-}

Mike Thorpe was sweating the final card as he called blind a bet by his opponent and then tabled the {a-Spades}{8-Spades} for a spades draw. He failed to hit the flush but the {a-Clubs} paired him up to win the pot. Several other notables can be found on the table and Ian O'Hara has started the best among them so far.

Townsend Leaves Hum Short

Niveau 8

Pot Limit Omaha

Board: {4-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}

Kristopher Townsend: {k-Diamonds}{k-Spades}{j-Hearts}{4-Spades}
Geoffrey Hum: {5-}{j-}{a-Clubs}{7-Clubs}

All of the money went in the middle on the flop. In the end it was Townsend who filled-up on the river with fours full of jacks which pipped the ace-high club flush of Hum's.

After that hand, Townsend now has 80,000 chips, while Hum was left with 1,200.

Michael Wang: {a-Spades}{j-Hearts}{10-Clubs} / {k-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}{j-Clubs}{9-Spades}

Jon Turner was at risk on fourth street and earned two calls. Michael Wang had a superior pair showing and bet all further streets. Wang revealed kings and jacks, which had Turner beat, and the third player in the hand tabled {a-Clubs}{7-Spades}{3-Spades} for a low to chop the main pot.

Weinman Doubles With his Short Stack

Niveau 7

Pot-Limit Omaha

Following an open raise to 500 and a call by Ryan Leng in the small blind, Daniel Weinman called in the big blind. The {k-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{2-Spades} flop was checked and Weinman check-called a pot-sized bet on the {q-Diamonds} turn. Weinman then check-called all-in for 2,400 on the {5-Clubs} river and was shown {a-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{7-Spades} for a bluff, which he had beat with {a-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}.

"I either double or re-enter," Weinman shrugged.
