Pauli Survives All-in Versus Turner

Niveau 16

No Limit Hold'em

Sebastian Pauli had pushed his last remaining 14,900 chips into the middle with {k-Hearts}{10-Clubs} and the action folded back around to Turner who tanked, but eventually called with {9-Clubs}{7-Clubs}.

The cards were all flipped face up and the flop of {a-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{3-Spades} missed both. The {9-Hearts} turn shot Turner into the lead, but it was short-lived, as the {k-Spades} came on the river. Pauli was awarded the pot with his one pair kings.

Williams Tangles With Chip Leader

Niveau 16

Omaha 8 or Better

David Williams and Day 1 chip leader Sachin Bhargava took the seats of the two players Sean Perry eliminated early and just played a pot against each other.

In a blind versus blind battle, Bhargava raised to 8,000 from the small blind and Williams defended. Bhargava bet 12,000 on the {q-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{a-Hearts} flop, and Williams called to see the {9-Hearts} turn.

Both players checked, and also checked down the {6-Diamonds} river. Bhargava showed {j-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}{3-Spades}{2-Spades} for a pair of jacks and a low. Williams took one last look at his cards before flinging them into the muck.

Richey Pots, Then Busts

Niveau 17

Omaha 8 or Better

Brett Shaffer raised from early position before Brett Richey potted to 17,400 from the small blind. Shaffer called, then called when Richey moved in on a flop of {j-Spades}{5-Spades}{4-Diamonds}.

Brett Richey: {a-Spades}{k-Clubs}{j-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}
Brett Shaffer: {k-Spades}{q-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{6-Spades}

The {q-Spades} on the turn gave Shaffer a flush, and Richey made his exit when the river came {a-Diamonds}.

Shaffer Shocked By Quads(His Own)

Niveau 17

Stud 8 or Better

The action was discovered on the river as Brett Shaffer had smooth called a single raise and tabled {a-Spades}{a-Diamonds}/{a-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}/{a-Hearts} for quad aces. Shaking his head in disbelief with a smile, he stated how the odds of getting quads and his literal hand of quads did not fully register; or obviously he would have raised.

With that pot Shaffer chipped up to 215,000 chips.

Mizrachi Spikes a Straight to Bust Sarle

Niveau 17

Pot-Limit Omaha

Matt Szymaszek raised from the cutoff and both Michael Mizrachi and Dominick Sarle called from the blinds.

When action checked to Szymaszek on the {4-Spades}{k-Hearts}{5-Hearts} flop, he bet 12,000 and Mizrachi called. Sarle then announced pot and was all in for his last 45,000.

Szymaszek thought about it for a moment before folding, but Mizrachi called. "Do you have a set?," Sarle asked.

"No, but I have a flush draw," Mizrachi said as he turned over {6-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}. Sarle showed {j-Spades}{4-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{q-Spades} for a set of fours.

Mizrachi didn't hit his flush, but the {8-Spades}{7-Clubs} turn and river gave him a straight to win the pot and knock out Sarle.

Ramos Leaves Aldridge Thinking

Niveau 17

Pot-Limit Omaha

Felipe Ramos (button), Vasu Amarapu (small blind), and Ken Aldridge (cutoff) each put in 7,000 on a flop of {k-Spades}{q-Hearts}{3-Spades}. When the {3-Diamonds} came on the turn, action checked to Ramos who bet 18,000.

Amarapu quickly folded, but Aldridge went into the tank for nearly two minutes. He cut out the chips to call and looked back at his hand before sliding his cards forward to the dealer.

"I have queens one time," Ramos said.

"I had one of them, did you have two more," Aldridge asked.
