The 25th tournament on the schedule for the 2021 World Series of Poker begins today. The $5,000 No-Limit Hold'em 6-Handed event starts at 3 p.m. local time today.

The $5,000 buy-in and six-handed format should lead to a field filled with plenty of big names. The 2019 edition of this event resulted in Joao Vieira's first career bracelet win.

That tournament drew 815 entries, with Vieria coming away with a $758,011 first-place payday.

Event #25 will play through four days of action. Today's Day 1 phase sees the tournament play through ten one-hour levels, with a 15-minute break after every two levels.

Players begin with 50,000 starting chips, and late registration is available through the start of Day 2. Day 2 begins at 2 p.m. Wednesday, with the tournament resuming at Level 11 (1,200/2,400/2,400).

Day 2 and Day 3 (Thursday at 2 p.m.) are both scheduled for a full day of ten levels. All players that make it through Day 3 will come back on Friday, Oct. 15 and play down to a champion.

PokerNews will be here with live updates throughout the $5,000 No-Limit Hold'em 6-Handed event, so stay tuned.
