Day 1 of Event #27: $1,500 H.O.R.S.E. has been played to completion with Mark Dickstein standing tall as the current chip leader after accumulating 300,000 in chips. Dickstein came close to winning a WSOP bracelet in 2006 when he finished third in a $10,000 Pot-Limit Omaha event. Now he has a chance for redemption.

Adam Owen lead the tournament in the latter stages of Day 1, but bagged up enough chips for second-place. Owen has two WSOP circuit rings to his name and over $700,000 in WSOP tournament earnings, and is now poised to make a solid run for his first gold bracelet.

The tournament drew a total of 594 players, which generated a $792,990 prize pool. Ninety spots will pay, with a min-cash being worth $2,400 and the eventual winner taking home a cool $160,636 in addition to a WSOP gold bracelet.

Many notables entered and bagged into Day 2 – including Brian Hastings (98,000), David Williams (90,000), Joe Mckeehen (24,500), Chris Vitch (68,000), James Woods (121,000), Allen Kessler (53,000), Norman Chad (91,000), Ari Engel (76,500), Barry Greenstein (148,500), and Phil Hellmuth (74,000), who is in contention to make yet another deep run in his conquest to earn a record-setting 16th gold bracelet.

Some notables who entered but busted before the day's end include Mike Matusow, Shirley Rosario, Rep Porter, Ken Aldridge, Kenna James, Benny Glaser, and Eli Elezra.

The remaining 207 players will return to play Day 2 tomorrow at 2 p.m. Unlike today, the tournament is scheduled for 10 hour-long levels and players will get a 60-minute dinner at the end of level 21 (approximately 8:30 p.m.).

Please stick with PokerNews as we race toward the money bubble and work our way closer to the next WSOP H.O.R.S.E. bracelet winner!

Omaha Hi/Lo

Three ways on a {3-Hearts}{k-Clubs}{a-Spades} flop, James Woods led out from the big blind. Dan Heimiller folded from under-the-gun and the player in the hijack called.

Woods fired on both the {7-Clubs} turn and {j-Hearts} river and was called down.

Wood tabled {a-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{2-Hearts} for aces-up and the nut low and his opponent mucked — conceding the pot to Woods.

Limit Hold'em

Four ways on a board of {q-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{9-Spades}{7-Diamonds}, Kao Saechao checked from the lojack and Katherine Fleck checked from the hijack to Shaun Deeb in the cutoff, who bet. Jack Traylor called on the button, as did Saechao and Fleck.

The {6-Hearts} completed the board and action checked to Fleck, who bet. Only Traylor called and Fleck tabled {5-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} for a straight. It was good as Traylor mucked — awarding the pot to Fleck.

John Cernuto took a moment to explain he was involved in a big pot wherein made a straight flush in Omaha Hi/Lo against an inferior flush of his opponent.

Cernuto has doubled his stack since the start of the day and is looking to make a deep run in today's event.
