Kovtunov Rivers Boat

Niveau 24 : 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante

Action was on the turn with the board reading {k-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{3-Clubs}. Hlib Kovtunov bet 240,000 before Scott Fitzhugh moved all in, Kovtunov made the call.

Fitzhugh was at risk holding {a-Clubs}{5-Clubs} for pair and nut flush draw vs the flopped top set of Kovtunov who had {k-Spades}{k-Hearts}.

Fitzhugh was looking for a club which would come in the form of the {9-Clubs}, however this gave Kovtunov a full house and Fitzhugh was eliminated.

Spriggs Survives Sanker

Niveau 23 : 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante

Mary Sanker started things off when she raised to 75,000 from early position. Rodney Spriggs re-raised all-in for his remaining 250,000 chips and Sanker tank-called.

The cards were turned face up and it was the {a-Hearts}{j-Diamonds} of Sanker that led the {a-Clubs}{8-Clubs} of Spriggs.

The dealer dealt the flop of {9-Diamonds}{a-Spades}{6-Diamonds} which didn't improve either player.

The turn was the {8-Diamonds} and that catapulted Spriggs into the lead.

The river card was the {10-Hearts} and that sealed the win for Spriggs and secured his double up.

Cho Slays Frank; Hawkins Eliminated

Niveau 23 : 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante

Steven Cho was seen taking in all the chips that once belonged to James Frank. The {j-}{8-} of Cho came from behind to beat the {q-}{j-} of Frank as the board ran out {8-}{a-}{10-}{5-}{a-} hitting the eight on the flop.

Meanwhile at a nearby table, Maurice Hawkins was standing up and waiting for payouts as he had just been felted early in the day by Simeon Spasov.

Taylor Doubles Through Chivukula

Niveau 23 : 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante

Kaylan Chivukula opened the betting when he moved all-in from early position. He was called by Brian Taylor from the small blind. The cards were turned face-up and Taylor was all-in and at risk and held {a-Hearts}{a-Clubs} versus the {a-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} of Chivukula's.

The dealer flopped the {k-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{a-Spades} and that all but sealed the deal for Taylor with his flopped set of aces.

The turn {6-Clubs} and river {8-Clubs} changed nothing, and Taylor secured a full double up and then some.

Kim Straightened Out by Ashkenazi

Niveau 23 : 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante
Pok Kim
Pok Kim

Pok Kim open-jammed from under the gun for 95,000 and action folded around to Itzhak Ashkenazi who called from the big blind.

Pok Kim: {k-Hearts}{9-Clubs}
Itzhak Ashkenazi: {9-Spades}{6-Spades}

Kim had Ashkenazi dominated but didn't like the {10-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} flop that gave the latter a gutshot straight draw.

Unfortunately for Kim, the sweat didn't last long as the {8-Diamonds} turn completed Ashkenazi's straight and the {q-Clubs} river ended her tournament.
