Powell Rivers Set to Crack Locascio's Aces

Niveau 25 : 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante
Reginald Powell
Reginald Powell

Stuart Locascio opened and Reginald Powell raised to 150,000 in middle position. The player in the big blind called and Locascio jammed. Powell thought about it and called for his 770,000 chips before the big blind folded.

Reginald Powell: {6-Clubs}{6-Hearts}
Stuart Locascio: {a-Clubs}{a-Spades}

Powell was looking for some help to stay alive but the {10-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{4-Clubs} flop changed nothing. The {k-Clubs} came on the turn and with only two outs in the deck, the {6-Diamonds} hit the felt as Powell gave a clap of his hands at the sight of the fortunate river card that gave him a set and cracked the aces of Locascio.

Locascio was left with 180,000 after the hand and busted a few hands later when getting it in with ace-jack against sixes and being on the losing side. The remaining players will now redraw for the final three tables.

Katsman Makes Quads, Surges Up Leaderboard

Niveau 25 : 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante

Alex Katsman and Andrew Golmicz just had a big all in confrontation.

The action was unclear, but what was clear was Katsman had {j-Clubs}{j-Diamonds} for quads on the completed board of {7-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{j-Spades}{k-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}.

Golmicz held {a-Clubs}{k-Clubs} and that was sent into the muck as a nearly three million chip pot was pushed to Katsman.

All 16 episodes will be televised following the conclusion of the tournament.

PokerGO will provide live streaming duties of the World Championship event starting on Day 1A (November 4) until the end on November 17, except Day 1B (November 5).

Away from the Main Event, there will be additional coverage of more than two dozen tournaments thru November 23, 2021. They include the $50,000 Poker Players Championship and the $250,000 Super High Roller.

Golmicz Flops The Nuts

Niveau 24 : 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante

Andrew Golmicz limped in from early position and the cutoff, button, and small blind did the same. Scott Sukstorf checked his option and it was five-ways to the flop {j-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{8-Spades}.

Each player checked to the {q-Hearts} turn and Sukstorf bet 100,000. Golmicz raised to 350,000 and sent Sukstorf into the tank.

"Ahhh alright," said Sukstorf as he folded.

"You made a very good fold," said Golmicz

Golmicz turned over {10-Clubs}{9-Hearts} for a flopped straight as he took in the pot.

Runge Runs Into Rockets

Niveau 24 : 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante

According to Paul Runge, Edward Hayes opened on the button and Runge jammed in his stack of about 350,000 in the small blind. Hayes called.

Paul Runge: {j-}{j-}
Edward Hayes: {a-}{a-}

Runge picked up a solid hand but was unfortunate to run into aces. The board ran out blanks and he was sent to the payout desk, although he wanted it to be known that he "lost with class".

Glenn Gillam opened to 105,000 under-the-gun and Gregory Baird shoved for 525,000 from the big blind.

"I liked these cards when I raised em," said Gillam, but after some thought he folded.

"Pick one," replied Baird, moving his cards forward. Gillam turned over the {a-Spades}.

"See if it matches the other one," said Baird. Gillam turned over the {a-Diamonds} as Baird dragged the pot.
