Solomon Wins A Big One, Schulman Runs It Back Up

Niveau 22 : 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante

A huge pot was played on table 416. Gary Bain and Eugene Solomon had gotten all the chips in the middle in a set over set situation.

Gary Bain held {5-Clubs}{5-Diamonds} and Eugene Solomon was showing {j-Spades}{j-Diamonds} on the {j-Hearts}{2-Spades}{5-Hearts}{3-Spades}{9-Spades} board.

After the stacks were counted Bain still had chips in front of him, but Solomon was awarded a massive double.

Meanwhile, on the neighboring table, Bruce Schulman wanted PokerNews to know that he had chipped back up.

"My wife doesn't like seeing me low on chips," said Schulman.

Schulman is currently sitting on about 700,000 in chips.

Joseph Neiman: {k-Hearts}{k-Spades}

Paul Runge opened to 80,000 in the hijack and Allen Nielson jammed in his 205,000 stack in the cutoff. Action folded back to Runge who called.

Allen Nielson: {7-Spades}{7-Diamonds}
Paul Runge: {a-Spades}{4-Spades}

Runge needed some help as the {9-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{3-Diamonds} came on the flop. He was calling for a spade, but instead, the {a-Diamonds} hit the turn to vault him into the lead right away. The {4-Clubs} completed the board and Runge took in the pot as Nielson headed to the payout desk.

Schulman Gets Lucky, Locascio Gets Luckier

Niveau 22 : 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante

Bruce Schulman and Stuart Locascio got all the chips in the middle preflop, with Locascio at risk.

Stuart Locascio: {a-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}
Bruce Schulman: {10-Hearts}{10-Spades}

Locascio was still ahead with his pocket aces on the flop {5-Diamonds}{q-Spades}{9-Clubs}, but the {10-Diamonds} fell on the turn to give Schulman the lead with a set. The river brought more drama as the {a-Spades} peeled on the river, to the shock and surprise from the table.

Locascio doubled up and Schulman was left with just 200,000.

"The beautiful thing is that you're still in it," said Locascio to Schulman.

Anthony Simpson bet 75,000 on the turn {6-Spades}{4-Spades}{5-Spades}{a-Clubs} and Everett Carlton shoved for about 350,000. Simpson made the call and Carlton was at risk.

Everett Carlton: {q-Spades}{j-Spades}
Anthony Simpson: {a-Spades}{a-Hearts}

Carlton was ahead with his flopped flush, but Simpson had outs to the ace-high flush or full house if the board paired.

The river brought the {9-Spades} and Simpson made the higher spade flush on the river to eliminate Carlton.
