Williams Cooked by Quads Then Rebuys

Niveau 2 : 200/300, 0 ante
David Williams
David Williams

There were three players that saw a {8-Clubs}{10-Spades}{3-Spades} flop and action was checked to David Williams who fired out a pot-sized 3,000 bet from the cutoff.

Action was on Jeffrey Brunelle who raised to 10,000 from the button and Williams three-bet jammed after the big blindfolded.

Brunelle called and the two players tabled their hands.

David Williams: {a-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{5-Hearts}
Jeffrey Brunelle: {k-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{4-Clubs}

Williams was way behind needing to complete his open-ended straight draw after Brunelle flopped top set but the {2-Diamonds} turn was no help.

Williams needed a jack or six on the river to stay alive but instead, it came the {10-Diamonds}, improving Brunelle to quads and he reentered the tournament shortly after.

Katyayan Can't Crack Watson's Ladies

Niveau 4 : 300/500, 0 ante
Mike Watson
Mike Watson

Amit Katyayan raised to 1,400 from under the gun and found three callers before Mike Watson three-bet to 8,400 from the big blind.

Action was back on Katyayan who four-bet all in for roughly 16,000 and only Watson called.

Amit Katyayan: {j-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{8-Clubs}
Mike Watson: {a-Diamonds}{q-Spades}{q-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}

Watson held the better made hand but the {7-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{6-Spades} flop gave Katyayan more outs with a gutshot straight draw.

Unfortunately for Katyayan, the board double paired after the {6-Clubs} turn and {2-Diamonds} river, ending his tournament.

Dylan Linde

A series of preflop raises saw Dylan Linde four-bet to 14,600 from the hijack and the cutoff called along with Mark Birdsall from the big blind.

Dylan Linde: {a-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}{k-Clubs}{3-Spades}
Mark Birdsall: {a-Spades}{k-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{5-Spades}

Linde was ahead with his pair of aces until the {6-Clubs} hit the turn giving Birdsall two-pair.

Shaun Deeb

There were three players on a {j-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{5-Hearts} flop for 3,500 a piece and action was checked to Alex Epstein, who continued for 7,500.

Shaun Deeb check-raised to 25,000 from the big blind and the hijack folded. Action was back on Epstein who three-bet all in and Deeb called off his starting stack.

Shaun Deeb: {q-Clubs}{7-Spades}{6-Spades}{5-Clubs}
Alex Epstein: {k-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}{10-Clubs}

Epstein was ahead with his pair of kings and the {4-Clubs} turn was no help to Deeb as it paired the board.

Deeb was hoping to connect with the river and did but it was the {q-Hearts} giving him a worse two-pair then Epstein's.

There was a massive pot brewing between Ruslan Nazarenko from under the gun and defending champ Alan Sternberg from the small blind.

All of Sternberg's chips went into the middle after a {8-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds} flop and Nazarenko called.

Alan Sternberg: {a-Spades}{a-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{2-Hearts}
Ruslan Nazarenko: {j-Spades}{9-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{6-Spades}

Sternberg held a pair of aces but was out-flopped by Nazarenko holding two-pair.

Neither the {q-Clubs} turn nor the {4-Hearts} river changed a thing and Sternberg reentered the tournament shortly after.
