Negreanu Checks It Down and Wins, Moves Past Two Million

Niveau 19 : 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante

Daniel Negreanu was in the small blind and facing a bet of 60,000 from Alexander Petersen on a flop of {a-Spades}{k-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}. Negreanu called to see the {2-Clubs} turn and checked again.

Petersen checked behind and the {3-Hearts} fell on the river. Both players checked yet again.

"Ace-queen," Negreanu announced, turning over {a-Clubs}{q-Clubs}{q-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}. Petersen mucked his hand as Negreanu raked in a pot that put him above the 2,000,000 chip mark.

Hendrix Spikes a Set to Stay Alive

Niveau 19 : 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante
Adam Hendrix
Adam Hendrix

Henrik Hecklen limped in from middle position and Adam Hendrix raised in the big blind. Hecklen then announced a pot-sized raise and Hendrix moved all-in with around 275,000.

Adam Hendrix: {q-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{6-Spades}
Henrik Hecklen: {k-Spades}{k-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}

Hendrix's queens were dominated by the kings Hecklen, though Hendrix picked up outs when he paired his eight on the {a-Spades}{3-Spades}{8-Clubs} flop.

Hendrix pushed his six toward the board in an effort to summon a six, but it didn't come on the {2-Hearts} turn. However, the river brought the {q-Spades} to improve Hendrix to a set and he doubled up to stay alive.

Right before the break, Dan Cates was in a three-way pot against Shaun Deeb and Adam Hendrix on a flop of {2-Spades}{7-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}.

Cates stared at the board stoically as a masseuse rubbed his forehead, temples and cheek bones before throwing out a bet of 25,000. Deeb folded and Hendrix called.

Cates checked on the {10-Spades} turn and Hendrix checked back. Cates, still getting his face handled by the masseuse, took a few seconds before betting 125,000. Hendrix folded.

Ben Lamb opened to 85,000 in late position and Chance Kornuth called from the big blind with about the same amount behind.
