Schultz Hits on River to Survive and Double Up

Niveau 35 : 250,000/500,000, 500,000 ante

Leo Soma was the first to act. He moved all in. He received a call from Thomas Schultz, who had 4,250,000 behind.

"You're gonna win," Schultz told Soma matter of factly. The two fist bumped as they had previously when Schultz had gone all in against Soma.

Thomas Schultz: {a-Spades}{j-Hearts}
Leo Soma: {k-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}

A familiar chant of "King! King! King!" came from the rail as Soma's supports continued to make themselves heard. This time, their request was fulfilled, on the {2-Spades}{5-Clubs}{k-Clubs} flop, giving Soma a pair and putting him out in front. The {5-Spades} turn left Schultz one card away from elimination.

The {a-Diamonds} arrived on the river, giving Schultz a pair of aces, and saving his tournament life, doubling up in the process.

"Told you this was fun" Schultz quipped after a moment, once the excitement and noise from the rail had quieted.

Daniel Wellborn

Action folded around to current chip leader Leo Soma who moved all in. The lone person left to act was Daniel Wellborn, who started the day with the chip lead. Wellborn made the quick call.

Daniel Wellborn: {j-Hearts}{a-Hearts}
Leo Soma: {6-Clubs}{7-Clubs}

Wellborn was ahead for now, but that would not last long, as the {7-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{k-Diamonds} flop gave Soma a pair and removed any chance of a flush for Wellborn. Soma's fan club erupted upon seeing the {7-Diamonds}. Wellborn failed to hit on any outs as the board finished {10-Spades}{10-Hearts}. Chants of "ALLEZ OLUX" and singing began pouring in from the rail as the board completed and Soma sent yet another opponent to the rail.

Daniel Wellborn was eliminated in 4th place. He will take home a cash of $148,171.
