Stein Doubles Through Arieh

Niveau 28 : 75,000/150,000, 150,000 ante
Sam Stein
Sam Stein

Tong Li limped in from the cutoff, Josh Arieh raised to 350,000 on the button, and Sam Stein made it 1,350,000 in the small blind. Li folded and Arieh called.

The flop came {j-Hearts}{10-Spades}{9-Spades}, Stein moved in his remaining 2,070,000 chips, and Arieh called.

Sam Stein: {a-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}
Josh Arieh: {k-Hearts}{j-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{7-Spades}

Arieh was ahead to the {3-Diamonds} turn, but the {10-Clubs} hit the river to give Stein aces and tens for the superior two pair to keep his tournament life alive.

Meanwhile, Scott Ball has also picked up some chips against Fabian Brandes in a recent pot.

Ball Loses to Li; Wins From Brandes

Niveau 28 : 75,000/150,000, 150,000 ante

Tong Li limped in from under the gun, which prompted limps from Fabian Brandes on the button and Jonathan Depa in the small blind. Scott Ball checked the option in the big blind and they checked all the way to the {a-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{j-Clubs}{j-Hearts} river. Depa checked and Ball bet 450,000, which only Li called.

Ball tabled the {k-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{10-Spades}{4-Diamonds} and Li earned the pot with the {k-Spades}{j-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}.

Josh Arieh then limped the small blind and Sam Stein checked from the big blind. The {q-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}{5-Hearts} flop went check, check, and Arieh stabbed the {q-Spades} turn with a min-bet. Stein raised to 400,000 and earned the snap-fold.

Ball, Arieh and Stein then limped and Brandes made it 750,000 to go in the big blind. The only caller was Ball, who faced a bet worth 600,000 by Brandes on a {a-Clubs}{j-Clubs}{4-Spades} flop. Ball raised the pot and Brandes folded instantly.

In the meanwhile, Depa's stack has been nearly halved after he hasn't picked up a single pot as of lately.

Ballsy Move Not Rewarded

Niveau 28 : 75,000/150,000, 150,000 ante

Fabian Brandes raised to 350,000 on the button for Scott Ball to call out of the big blind. The {5-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{3-Spades} flop was checked by Ball, who subsequently called a bet worth 350,000. Both opted to check through the {9-Hearts} turn and Ball then bet the {4-Clubs} river for 800,000.

Brandes instantly called and Ball turned over {k-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}, which Brandes had beat with the {a-Diamonds}{q-Spades}{10-Hearts}{4-Hearts} for trip fours.

Ball Continues Climb

Niveau 28 : 75,000/150,000, 150,000 ante

Josh Arieh opened to 350,000 in middle position, Sam Stein called in the hijack, and Scott Ball called in the small blind.

The dealer fanned the {8-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{2-Spades} flop and action checked to Stein. Stein bet 550,000, Ball called, and Arieh folded.

Both players checked the {q-Diamonds} turn to the {6-Hearts} river, and Ball led for 900,000. Stein called.

Ball revealed {k-Diamonds}{k-Spades}{8-Hearts}{6-Clubs} and claimed the pot with his boat to add more to his stack.

Depa on Fumes; Li Jams Into Ball

Niveau 28 : 75,000/150,000, 150,000 ante

Scott Ball raised to 300,000 from under the gun after just scooping the blinds in the previous hands. Tong Li called from one seat over and Jonathan Depa in the big blind used two time bank extensions before he came along with four blinds behind.

The flop brought {k-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{8-Hearts} and Depa checked for Ball to bet 650,000, which Li called and Depa then let go. After the {q-Clubs} turn, Ball made it another 900,000 to go and Li called as the {4-Clubs} river completed the board.

Ball double-checked his cards and the stack of his opponent before checking. Li then jammed and earned the fold of Ball, who mentioned in table chat he had aces with a king. Apparently, Li revealed after all was over that he had king-queen-nine for two pair.

Brandes Wins Pot Off Arieh to Increase Lead

Niveau 29 : 100,000/200,000, 200,000 ante

Tong Li limped in, as did Josh Arieh on the button and Sam Stein in the small blind. Fabian Brandes checked in the big blind and the {10-Clubs}{7-Spades}{4-Hearts} flop was checked by Stein. Brandes made it 600,000 to go and Arieh was the only caller. Another barrel for 800,000 followed on the {10-Diamonds} turn and Arieh called.

After the {3-Clubs} river, Brandes bet 1,700,000 and Arieh used one time bank extension before tank-folding as his next 30-second period was about to run out.
