Day 1 of Event #23: $3,000 Limit Hold'em 6-Handed has just ended and saw a total of 213 players take to the felt. After ten hour-long levels of play, 93 remain, with Daniel Vampan leading the charge after bagging 217,500 chips, closely followed by Japanese player Ruiko Mamiya with 207,000.

Vampan has racked up seven total cashes thus far in World Series of Poker events. He is still seeking to catch his first-ever WSOP gold bracelet and surpass his biggest WSOP money prize when he finished in 69th place in the 2018 $1,500 No-Limit Hold'em MILLIONAIRE MAKER for $14,944.

Vieira Chips Up on Ferro

Niveau 10 : 2,000/4,000, 0 ante

Jacob Ferro raised in the cutoff and Joao Viera decided to re-raise in the small blind, which was called by Ferro.

The dealer showed a flop {k-Spades}{2-Clubs}{q-Hearts} and Ferro called another bet from Vieira. On the {3-Clubs} turn, Vieira bet again and faced a re-raise from Ferro. After a minute, Vieira called.

The river was the {a-Hearts} and Vieira bet, followed by a call from Ferro. The latter announced ace-queen for two pair but mucked his cards when Vieira tabled {j-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} for the straight.
