Limit Hold'em Week Wraps Up with Event #26: $10,000 Limit Hold'em Championship at 3 p.m.

After packing in all three limit hold'em events into one week, the World Series of Poker at Bally's and Paris Las Vegas will wrap up with the prestigious Event #26: $10,000 Limit Hold'em Championship. The cards are slated to go in the air at 3 p.m. local time to kick off this three-day event.

The week started off with the $1,500 Limit Hold'em event that saw Michael Moncek capture his first WSOP bracelet. There is currently a $3,000 Limit Hold'em 6-max tournament heading into Day 2 with 93 players still in the hunt. The Championship Event will be the last of its format throughout the summer series in Las Vegas.

John Monnette will come in as the defending champion, besting a field of 92 entries in 2021 to take home $245,680 along with his fourth gold bracelet. Due to the higher buy-in level, you can expect the field to be littered with former bracelet winners and many household names.

A starting stack in this event will provide you with 60,000 chips and the blinds will begin at 300/500 while the limits will start at 500/1,000. Each level will be 60 minutes in length with a 15-minute break after every two levels on Day 1. Beginning on Day 2, the levels will increase to 90 minutes with a 10-minute break after each level.

There will be 10 levels scheduled for Day 1 with late registration open throughout until the start of Day 2. No dinner break is also scheduled for the opening day.

The PokerNews live reporting team will be on the tournament floor to bring you all of the updates throughout the day so keep it locked here.

Song Rakes in an Early Pot

Niveau 1 : 300/500, 0 ante

David Litt raised it up in the hijack and was called by Kevin Song and Kerry Welsh in the blinds. The flop came {a-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}{3-Spades} and the blinds checked to Litt who continued with a bet. Both Song and Welsh quickly called.

The turn was the {9-Clubs} and Song checked again. Welsh was the one to fire in a bet this time which got Litt to fold but Song still called.

The {8-Spades} completed the board and both players tapped the table. Welsh showed {7-Spades}{7-Diamonds} but Song turned over {a-Clubs}{5-Diamonds} for trip aces to take the pot.

Cwomley Wins Two

Niveau 1 : 300/500, 0 ante

Jonathan Cwomley just took his seat at one of the tables and quickly got involved in the action. Cwomley stuck in a three-bet from the cutoff and was four-bet by the small blind. The initial raised folded and Cwomley called to go heads-up to a flop of {10-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}.

Cwomley check-called on the flop as well as the {7-Diamonds} on the turn. The {8-Spades} hit the river and Cwomley led out this time. His opponent called and Cwomley tabled {a-Hearts}{q-Diamonds} which was the best hand.

A couple of hands later, the button raised it up and Cwomley three-bet from the small blind which the button called. The flop came {k-Hearts}{j-Spades}{5-Diamonds} and Cwomley continued with a bet. His opponent called and the action was the same for the {7-Hearts} on the turn and the {5-Clubs} on the river.

Cwomley flipped over {k-Spades}{9-Clubs} for top pair and his opponent conceded the pot.
