Biggest Hero Call of All-Time?

Niveau 16 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante
Tristan Wade
Tristan Wade

The PokerNews team was called over to a table to report on a wild hand. The action was relayed by the table after the fact.

Tristan Wade opened preflop to 12,000 from the cutoff. Only the big blind made the call. The flop came {10-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{3-Spades} and Wade bet 15,000 after being checked to. The big blind check-raised to 45,000 and Wade made the call.

On the {5-Clubs} turn, both players checked and on the {2-Spades} completed the board on the river. The big blind bet out 100,000 with only 60,000 behind.

Wade went well in the tank before flicking in the call for almost his tournament life and what a call it was.

The big blind rolled over {j-Clubs}{9-Hearts} for a missed straight draw and Wade slammed down {q-Hearts}{j-Diamonds} for queen-high and just enough to win the pot.

Michael Gathy
Michael Gathy

In early position, Gathy shoved all but a couple thousand of his remaining stack of around 60,000. It folded around to Kevin Schulz, who opted to shove. Gathy would wait before tossing his last chips into the middle.

Michael Gathy: {a-Clubs}{j-Spades}
Kevin Schulz: {a-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}

Schulz had Gathy nearly dead on the {a-Clubs}{k-Clubs}{6-Spades} flop. The turn came the {2-Spades} to eliminate Gathy just two places from the money.

The {7-Clubs} completed the board.

Martin Jacobson

Action started when the hijack opened for 13,000. Martin Jacobson three-bet to 40,000 from the button. It folded back to the original raiser who shoved all in for over 300,000. Jacobson snap-called for his 220,000 stack and the hands were tabled.

Martin Jacobson: {a-Hearts}{k-Spades}
Opponent: {10-Spades}{6-Clubs}

The hijack player looked sick as he did not expect a call from Jacobson this close to the money bubble. The board ran out {9-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{7-Spades}{3-Diamonds} and Jacobson scored the massive double-up.

Cary Katz opened the action from middle position to 8,000. Next to act called from the hijack and the rest of the table folded.

The flop was {a-Clubs}{j-Hearts}{6-Hearts} and both players checked. The turn was the {5-Spades} and again both checked.

Things got more fun on the {4-Clubs} river when Katz bet out 8,000.

"I don't want to show this hand, please don't call," said Katz jokingly to his opponent. The hijack player tanked for a while before flicking in the call.

Katz rolled over {4-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} for a rivered pair of fours. His opponent laughed and said, "I called you with king-high, I had to see it."
