Lee Applies Maximum Pressure

Niveau 18 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

Jangkyu Lee opened to 25,000 from under the gun and action folded around to the small blind, who called. The big blind got out of the way to send the two players heads-up to the flop.

The small blind checked on the {4-Hearts}{k-Hearts}{9-Clubs} flop and then called the 40,000 continuation from Lee.

The {2-Clubs} turn saw the small blind player check for a second time and Lee, in no mood to get to a cheap showdown, sized up a bet to 100,000. It did not take long for his opponent to make the call.

The small blind checked for a third time after the {2-Diamonds} came on the river. Without too much hesitation, Lee announced all in, covering his opponent. The small blind player went into the tank for a couple of minutes, counting and re-counting his chip stack. Ultimately he decided to find a better spot, letting his hand go. The player to Lee's left said after the hand that he had seen Lee holding a {3-}, a statement that caused the small blind player to shake his head in frustration before getting out of his seat to take a lap of the room.

D'Ambrosio Chips Up

Niveau 18 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Jimmy D'Ambrosio
Jimmy D'Ambrosio

Jimmy D'Ambrosio was on the button and called a 25,000 under the gun raise from Roger Taieb to see a flop. The blinds folded and the flop came down {k-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{6-Clubs}.

Taieb checked and D'Ambrosio bet 54,000 and told Taieb, "Just shove so I can bet ya! Don't just call." Taieb went back and forth with himself trying to figure out whether to call or not before he finally showed a {9-Hearts} and folded.

Jimmy looked at the PokerNews reporter as he was stacking his chips and said "That one's for grandma!"

Double For Hasson Through Boyd

Niveau 18 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Gary Hasson
Gary Hasson

Matthew Boyd was at a board of {9-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} against Gary Hasson, cutoff versus big blind respectively. After action checked around the turn {q-Spades} fell and Hasson checked once again. Hasson now bet out 70,000 and Body responded with a jam all in for around 200,000 which was quickly snapped off by Boyd.

Gary Hasson: {a-Spades}{a-Hearts}
Matthew Boyd: {k-Hearts}{q-Hearts}

The {j-Hearts} didn't change anything and Hasson doubled through Boyd, who said ''Nice bet'', as he chuckled.

British player Dan Moran, who somehow flew under the radar today to this point is in between the two players, on a healthy stack.

Shing Four-Bet Jams

Niveau 18 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

Tsz Shing opened to 24,000 on the button and was called by Robert Spano in the small blind. A player, who did not report their name, after lengthy consideration and asking for a count of Shing's stack (estimated at 300,000 and change) three-bet to 118,000. Shing almost instantaneously announced all-in, which was met with almost as quick a fold from the small blind.

The player in the big blind did not immediately release his hand, but did do so eventually. After the hand was over the big blind player could be heard saying that he had folded his favorite hand, namely {a-Hearts}{3-Hearts}. Shing, meanwhile, added around 30% to his stack without even seeing a flop.

Some Luck for Lauck

Niveau 18 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

Preflop all in action had Ezequiel Waigel going up against Jonas Lauck who was all in for 85,000.

Jonas Lauck: {a-Spades}{k-Spades}
Ezequiel Waigel: {q-Hearts}{10-Spades}

Waigel was ahead on the {10-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{4-Hearts} flop with a pair of tens and was still good on the {8-Clubs} turn but the {a-Clubs} river was just the right card to save Lauck and double up his stack.

Zack Eliminated by Mizrachi

Niveau 17 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante
Robert Mizrachi
Robert Mizrachi

Dan Zack's run in the this event is no more.

Cards were on their backs with Zack's last 200,000 in the middle. Zack's {a-}{j-} had run into the {a-}{k-} of Robert Mizrachi.

The board ran out {4-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{7-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{2-Spades}, eliminating Zack. He'll have to wait at least one more event to win his third bracelet of the summer, as he leads the Player of the Year leaderboard, ahead of Dan Weinman and David Peters. Mizrachi moves up the leaderboard as he looks for bracelet five.
