Pett Finally Puts a Stop to Liebert's Run

Niveau 33 : 150,000/300,000, 300,000 ante

Mark Pett raised to 700,000 in the cutoff and Kathy Liebert three-bet to 2,200,000 on the button. The blinds folded and Pett called to see a flop of {k-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{5-Hearts}.

Pett checked to Liebert who continued with a bet of 2,200,000 and Pett called. The {7-Diamonds} rolled off on the turn and both players checked to the {3-Clubs} on the river. Pett checked one more time and Liebert quickly checked it back. Pett turned over {j-Spades}{j-Hearts} and Liebert flashed the {a-Spades} en route to throwing her hand away.

Brian Brunner Eliminated in 11th Place ($53,324)

Niveau 33 : 150,000/300,000, 300,000 ante
Brian Brunner
Brian Brunner

Ben Sarnoff opened for 700,000 from under the gun and Brian Brunner three-bet to 1,500,000 from the hijack. Sarnoff called.

The flop came {9-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{10-Spades} and Sarnoff checked over to Brunner, who shoved all in for his remaining 7,500,000. Sarnoff would ask for a count and call shortly afterwards, with Brunner not happy to hear the news.

Brian Brunner: {a-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}
Ben Sarnoff: {9-Hearts}{8-Hearts}

Brunner knew he was behind and he was, with Sarnoff flopping bottom two pair against his top pair, top kicker.

The {6-Hearts} turn gave him four additional outs to a chop but the {2-Clubs} sealed his fate, finishing in 11th place and giving Sarnoff the chip lead.

The tournament will now redraw and gather for a 10-handed unofficial final table.

Pettersson Scores a Timely Double Up

Niveau 34 : 200,000/400,000, 400,000 ante

Ben Sarnoff raised to 900,000 in middle position and was called by Mark Pett on the button. Jan Pettersson ripped all in for 4,800,000 which got the full attention of Alexander Hill in the big blind. He thought for over a minute before deciding to fold, followed by a quick fold from Sarnoff. Pett asked for a count and then called to Pettersson at risk.

Jan Pettersson: {a-Hearts}{k-Hearts}
Mark Pett: {a-Spades}{9-Diamonds}

Pettersson was in a dominating position and the flop of {10-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{3-Spades} left it that way. The {2-Spades} on the turn changed nothing and the {k-Clubs} on the river only improved Pettersson to pair in order to double up.

Scalamogna Doubles Up Through Pett

Niveau 34 : 200,000/400,000, 400,000 ante

Domenico Scalamogna opened all in for 1,700,000, a little over four big blinds, from the hijack. Mark Pett three-bet to 3,000,000 from the cutoff but there was no further action.

Domenico Scalamogna: {k-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}
Mark Pett: {a-Spades}{9-Diamonds}

The {4-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{2-Spades} flop gave Scalamogna a flush draw in addition to his live outs. However, the {a-Hearts} arrived on the turn, leaving Scalamogna with only potential to hit his flush and chop for a straight.

The river came the {q-Diamonds}, doubling up the Canadian. Unfortunately for Pett, he has dropped below 13 million after starting the final table with over 20 million just a few minutes ago.

Korn Shoves on Morciano

Niveau 34 : 200,000/400,000, 400,000 ante

Biagio Morciano raised to 800,000 in early position and was called by Mark Pett in the hijack and Andres Korn in the big blind. The flop fell {q-Spades}{5-Spades}{4-Diamonds} and Morciano continued with a bet of 1,200,000. Pett quickly folded but Korn stuck around to see the {3-Diamonds} on the turn.

Korn checked it again and Morciano threw in a bet of 1,400,000. Korn check-raised all in for around 7,300,000 which got Morciano to contemplate his decision for a minute before folding. Korn flashed the {k-Spades} while he raked in the pot.

Smidinger Flops Top Pair, Pett Moves Under Ten Million

Niveau 34 : 200,000/400,000, 400,000 ante

Eric Smidinger opened to 900,000 from the hijack and Mark Pett called from the button.

The flop came {5-Spades}{7-Hearts}{k-Clubs} and both players tapped the table.

On the {j-Hearts} turn, Smidinger put out a bet of 1,400,000 and Pett called.

The {a-Diamonds} slowed both players down and after they both checked, Smidinger turned over {k-Spades}{9-Spades} and took down the pot.

Pett has now moved to under ten million after starting the final table at over 20 million.
