Reis Chipping Back Up

Niveau 16 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

It has been a somewhat up and down day for Rafael Reis, but he's heading in the right direction again as he chipped up from a three way pot.

He opened under-the-gun +1 and was called by both blinds.

On the {8-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} flop, Reis fired 30,000 when checked to and took it down.

Niveau 16 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

With 80,000 getting in preflop, the board began {5-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{10-Spades}. The heads-up action was folded to Benito Beisiegel in the cutoff. He led out for 35,000. His opponent, in early position, called.

The turn came {10-Clubs}. Both players checked. The {3-Diamonds} finished the board. His opponent led into him for 115,000. Beisiegel wasted little time before calling, and turning over {k-Hearts}{10-Hearts} to take down the pot.

Niveau 16 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

Opponent: {a-Spades}{5-Clubs}

Abdel-Rahim needed some help, and he got it in droves on the {q-Clubs}{4-Spades}{q-Hearts} flop. The board finished out {j-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}, securing the pot for Muhammad Abdel-Rahim, whos stack is amongst the largest in today's flight.

Liu Increases His Lead

Niveau 16 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

Action folded around to the small blind who opened for 30,000 and Ya Yun Liu called in the big blind.

The flop of {a-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}{9-Clubs} saw both players check and when the {q-Clubs} hit the turn the small blind player bet 22,000. Lui paused for a moment before jamming all in for his massive 1,200,000 stack, covering his opponents 190,000 chips if called.

The small blind player eventually laid down his hand and Lui increased his incredible stack some more.

Update On Number of Players Paid and Prizepool

Niveau 16 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
WSOP Money
WSOP Money

It has been announced that 587 players will make the money and be guaranteed at least $801.

The board currently shows 684 players remaining.

Today's field generated a massive prize pool of $1,643,460. That pushes the overall prize pool from days 1a and 1b to $3,060,120.

If this pace of entries continues over the weekend, as expected, the tournament will smash the $5,000,000 guarantee.

Galvan Adds To His Wall Of Chips

Niveau 16 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

Fernando Fraire Galvan is making waves on his table at the moment and he's just knocked out another player. Action was folded to the button who pushed all-in for his last 140,000 and Galvan then moved enough green 25,000 chips into the middle to cover the big blind's stack too.

Once the big blind folded cards were on their backs and Galvan's {a-Clubs}{q-Spades} was slightly statistically ahead against his opponents {k-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}.

When the board ran out {a-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{a-Hearts}, it sealed his opponents fate and sent Galvan among the top ten chip stacks. He's looking to add to his resume that includes a WSOP circuit ring back in 2017.

Wheeler's Ace Hits on the River to Bust Opponent

Niveau 15 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Action folded to the cutoff who moved all in with 120,000 behind. After the button and small blind got out the way, Howard Wheeler wasted no time making the call from the big blind, and the players tabled their hands.

Wheeler: {a-Spades}{j-Spades}
Opponent: {q-Clubs}{8-Clubs}

Wheeler was ahead for now, but quickly fell behind when the flop came {k-Spades}{8-Hearts}{k-Clubs}, giving his opponent two pair. The {4-Diamonds} turn changed nothing, but the {a-Clubs} on the river gave Wheeler the higher two pair, and the pot, knocking out his opponent in the process.

Niveau 15 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Arnold Spee bet 25,000 from early position and faced an all-in from a short stack in middle position for 71,000. Spee made the call for 46,000 more.

Middle Position: {a-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}
Arnold Spee: {q-Hearts}{j-Spades}

The flop of {8-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{3-Clubs} helped no one, but the {j-Hearts} on the turn put Spee ahead and the {q-Diamonds} confirmed the middle position player's exit with Spee making two pair.
