Chip Counts From Table 117

Niveau 1 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

With new entries into the tournament, Chino Rheem had been moved to the table and was seated to the right of Chris Fraser. Rheem remarked about how well Fraser's day had been going so far, judging by the size of his chip stack.

"Just backdoor flushes and backdoor straights," replied Fraser. "Probably the wrong time to do it. Final table would be a better time!"

Two New Entries on Table 112

Niveau 1 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Limit Hold'em

Naoya Kihara and Jens Lakemeier joined the fray and both sat down on table 112 without being involved in any of the major action so far. The only somewhat notable hands from their table in Limit Hold'em featured an under the gun raise by Ali Eslami and picked up a caller in Shaun Deeb out of the big blind. The {9-Spades}{8-Clubs}{4-Diamonds} flop was checked and Deeb bet the {5-Clubs} turn to force a fold.

Eslami then defended the big blind against Scott Seiver's button raise and check-folded the {k-Clubs}{j-Spades}{6-Diamonds}.

Fraser Adds More Chips in Limit Hold'em

Niveau 1 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Limit Hold'em

Dave Rogers check-raised a heads-up turn of {q-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{7-Diamonds} against Chris Fraser and earned a call to then bet the {2-Spades} on the river. Fraser called and Rogers tabled {q-Diamonds}{9-Spades} for queens and nines. However, it was Fraser who added more chips as his {k-Spades}{k-Clubs} were good enough for kings and sevens.

The Defending Champ is Here; Oooh Yeah!

Niveau 1 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Defending $50,000 Poker Players Championship winner Dan Cates has just taken his seat in this year's tournament wearing a Randy Savage costume.

You'll have pictures of the Macho Man himself, complete with wig and cowboy hat very soon. For now, he's seated next to Phil Ivey who has had a bemused and confused expression on his face ever since Cates sat down.

Cates has also placed the bracelet he won for winning the PPC last year on the table in front of him.

"You should wear it!" said tablemate Chris Fraser. "Did you bring the trophy as well?"

Oh, and one last thing to mention. He's doing the Randy Savage voice.

"Just the thought that you think you can win this thing," he said, pointing to the bracelet.

Niveau 1 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Seven Card Stud Hi-Lo

Dan Cates: {x-}{x-} / {7-Hearts}{q-Hearts}{3-Spades}{6-Hearts}
Chino Rheem: {x-}{x-} / {7-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{2-Hearts}{2-Clubs} folded on sixth

Dan Cates has not broken away from his character so far and announced all his table chat and action in the same raspy voice. That included a small pot against Chino Rheem on which he bet the advantage on fourth and fifth street, earning calls from Rheem. Sixth street paired up Rheem and he checked, Cates bet and won the pot.

"That's right, get out of here," Cates rumbled on.
