The day began fast and within 10 minutes, the tournament was hand for hand. It ended up being Jacob Brundage going out on the bubble when he posted his big blind, which put himself all in against Darryll Fish. Defending champion Kevin Gerhart was not able to make the third day of this event, as his run for a title defense ended in 142nd place for $2,629. Other players that saw their cashes fall short included Jeff Lisandro (103rd-$3,184), Dan Zack (48th-$5,294), Alex Foxen (33rd-$7,161), Nathan Gamble (20th-$10,222) and start of day chip leader Justin Liberto (17th-$10,222).
