Bracelet Winner Joey Couden Eliminated in 43rd by Glantz

Niveau 24 : 25,000/50,000, 0 ante
Joey Couden
Joey Couden

Joey Couden, WSOP bracelet winner, was all in preflop and facing elimination against Matt Glantz.

Couden: {q-}{j-}{4-}{2-}

Glantz: {a-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{4-Clubs}

The flop of {4-Spades}{2-}{8-Spades} gave Couden 2 pair, but Glantz was freerolling with a low and the {10-Spades} turn gave Glantz the nut flush.

A river {k-Spades} failed to boat up Couden and sent him to the payout desk for $5,889.

Blumenthal Eliminated by Boukai

Niveau 24 : 25,000/50,000, 0 ante
Eddie Blumenthal
Eddie Blumenthal

In a battle cutoff versus button, Eddie Blumenthal was all-in for a very short stack and looked up by the initial raiser Rami Boukai.

Eddie Blumenthal: {k-Clubs}{q-Clubs}{j-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}
Rami Boukai: {a-Clubs}{a-Spades}{q-Diamonds}{4-Spades}

"That's not a very good flop," Blumenthal joked when it came {a-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{5-Clubs}. After the {5-Spades} turn, he was drawing dead and followed that up with "not a good turn, can you put another four cards?" to the dealer. The {9-Diamonds} river became a formality as Blumenthal was escorted to the payout desk moments later.

Anmon Filippi

The flop came down {j-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{4-Clubs} to which Couden bet, Filippi called and Viriyayuthakorn went all in for 20,000.

A {6-Spades} showed up on the river and the round was checked.

The river was a {j-Clubs}

Filippi said "I have a jack." and flipped over his cards showing {a-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}{10-Spades}.

Lane Gets Three Quarters Against Nichols

Niveau 24 : 25,000/50,000, 0 ante

With four bets in before the flop, Brian Nichols bet the {7-Hearts}{6-Spades}{2-Clubs} flop and then called the all-in of Ron Lane for very few chips more.

Ron Lane: {a-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{2-Hearts}
Brian Nichols: {a-Spades}{k-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{2-Spades}

The {4-Hearts} turn improved Lane to a straight and the {j-Spades} river ensured three quarters for him, as Nichols only had the same low.

Down to the final six tables, the current chip leader Andrew Brown has a solid lead over the next follower and he just dragged in another small pot. Christopher Logue had limped in and only lost one and a half more full bets thereafter on the {a-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{10-Spades}{5-Spades} board when Brown tabled the {10-Hearts}{5-}{4-}{2-Diamonds} for fives full of tens and a low.

In the meanwhile, Nathan Gamble was spotted on his way out after fighting a shorter stack in the last few hours.

Judah Wins Some off Brandt

Niveau 24 : 25,000/50,000, 0 ante

John Brandt raised and Mel Judah defended his big blind to then check-call a bet on the {q-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{6-Clubs} flop. Judah bet the {10-Diamonds} turn and Brandt called as both checked the {k-Diamonds} on the river. The Aussie Poker Hall of Fame member announced a straight and turned over {a-Clubs}{k-Hearts}{j-Clubs}{10-Spades}, to which Brandt just shook his head and tossed the cards into the muck.

Niveau 24 : 25,000/50,000, 0 ante

Kosei Ichinose raised from an early position and earned a call from Shaun Deeb in the big blind. Deeb checked and subsequently called a bet by Ichinose on the {k-Hearts}{5-Spades}{4-Clubs} flop. He then also checked the {7-Hearts} turn and Ichinose bet to force out Deeb, who dropped to fewer than four big bets.

Deeb Scooped on River

Shaun Deeb
Shaun Deeb

A flop of {10-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{8-Hearts} saw heads up action between bracelet winner Shaun Deeb in middle position and Matthew Schultz in the big blind.

Schultz then bet and Deeb called.

On the {j-Hearts} turn Schultz bet and Deeb called again.

Then when the river {3-Clubs} came and Schulte bet once more, Deeb went into the tank. After several moments he reluctantly put his calling chips out.

Schultz showed {a-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} for a flush and the nut low, Deeb mucked his cards.

He was up against Ed Smith with the {a-Hearts}{a-Spades}{k-Hearts}{j-Spades} and the {5-Hearts} turn locked up three quarters, which made the {8-Spades} river a formality.
