Welcome to the last opening day of Event #71: $1,111 One More For One Drop NLHE, from its new home at the 2022 WSOP at Bally's and Paris Las Vegas. With already 2,312 entries, this tournament could take on an even greater dimension thanks to this last introductory day.

After Day 1a, Renmei Liu finished chipleader with 445,500 while after Day 1b, Andre Santos finished with 456,000, almost the same stack.

For all the Main Event eliminated, this tournament could be a good way to digest that shattered dream, while moving on. And why not aim for the hundreds of thousands of dollars that there will be to win this tournament?

Players have two options when registering into the One Drop. They will receive 20,000 in chips for the $1,000 buy-in, and they can double their stack with a $111 donation at registration which goes directly to One Drop.

During Day 1c, the plan is to play through ten 60-minute levels, with a 15-minute break every two levels. There will also be a 75-minute dinner break after level 6 at approximately 6:40 p.m.

PokerNews will be on the ground, providing live updates from this last starting flight through to the moment when a new champion emerges, stay tuned!

And here we go, the tournament director made the shuffle up and deal for the first players starting this event. And it begins with 71 tables with between 3 and 8 players each time.

Birdwell Makes Quads For The First Elimination

Niveau 1 : Blinds 100/100, 100 ante

One player is already cruising: Kyle Birdwell has twice as many chips as everyone else, after he scored a first elimination.

PokerNews was not there to see the action, but Birdwell confessed that he defended {10-}{3-} from his big blind, after a min raise in a multiway pot, and the board came {q-}{3-}{3-}{3-}{6-}.

On the flop, a player bet 400, another one raised to 1,500 and Birdwell called. On the turn, this same player who raised on the flop, bet 3,000 and Birdwell raised to 8,000 with quads.

On the river, Birdwell just shoved after a check from his opponent. Who finally called and busted really soon.

Another player has already a lot of chips, his name is Andre Templeman.

The Canadian confessed that "two players decided to give me their chips, I just took it." Then he explained he made a straight on the river, against a set of eights for his opponent, and the second player "decided to player king-ten against my king-jack."

And Templeman is already the chipleader.

Two-Pair Versus A Set For Taylor

Niveau 1 : Blinds 100/100, 100 ante

Action was caught on a {j-Spades}{q-Hearts}{8-Spades}{6-Hearts} turn, with Inge Fagerbakke who bet 4,000 and Stuart Taylor who called.

The river {5-Clubs} completed that board and Fagerbakke quickly bet 5,000. Taylor called, Fagerbakke showed {q-Spades}{8-Diamonds} for two-pair on the flop, but Taylor had {6-Spades}{6-Hearts} and made a set on the turn, to collect that pot.

Niveau 1 : Blinds 100/100, 100 ante

At the end of the first level, one player was seen with a lot chips, her name is Angela Aguilar.

"I cracked a set of deuces with Aces," explained Aguilar, who had {a-}{a-} on {k-}{2-}{3-}{4-}{5-} board against {2-}{2-}, then she explained that she had "two-pair and a straight draw against a player who made all in with bottom pair", and she finally hit the straight on the river.
