Brandenburg Busted in Huge Pot Before Break

Niveau 17

Big O

A massive pot just developed that drew a crowd from nearby tables and saw Michael Romanos vault his stack into contention for the current chip lead.

Romanos limped in middle position and was raised to 85,000 by Shawn Carter in the cutoff. Joe Brandenburg then called on the button, as did Romanos to build an already sizeable pot.

On the {a-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} flop, Romanos bet 25,000 and was raised to 100,000 by Carter. Brandenburg then went all in for slightly more. Romanos then raised enough to cover both opponents, and Carter also called for approximately 120,000 total.

Joe Brandenburg: {a-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{4-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}
Shawn Carter: {a-Hearts}{k-Hearts}{k-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{2-Clubs}
Michael Romanos: {q-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{3-Spades}

Romanos had the best hand at the moment with a set of tens, but was against Carter's nut flush draw and a five deuce low draw, while Brandenburg had bottom set with a five-four low draw.

The turn brought the {5-Diamonds} and the river the {7-Spades}, as Romanos' set of tens held for high, and Carter's live deuce gave him the low, while Brandenburg was the unfortunate victim to be eliminated in the huge pot just before break.

Shaun Deeb
Shaun Deeb

Ari Oxman, who survived Day 1 to win his prop bet with Shaun Deeb, will have to take his $500 winnings from that bet as his only profit from this tournament, as he's been eliminated short of the money by Men Nguyen, whose stack has rocketed up to 340,000.

Fuchs Quarters Imejjane

Niveau 17

Pot Limit Omaha 8 or Better

All the chips went into the middle after a flop of {a-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{7-Clubs} with Badr Imejjane at risk for 70,000 chips in the big blind against Carol Fuchs in the cutoff.

Badr Imejjane: {a-Clubs}{j-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{8-Clubs}
Carol Fuchs: {a-Spades}{a-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}

Fuchs flopped a set against Imejjane's top two pair. The {3-Clubs}{4-Hearts} completed the board to give both players {8-}{7-}{4-}{3-}{a-} for the low for a chop, but Fuchs won the high pot and Imejjane only received a quarter of the pot.

Moreschi Goes Nut-Nut Against Deeb

Niveau 17
Steve Moreschi
Steve Moreschi

Limit Omaha 8 or Better

Brian Smith raised in late position, and after Shaun Deeb misclicked by putting out 7,500, it was ruled he must call the raise. Stephen Moreschi then called in the big blind.

The trio saw a flop of {2-Hearts}{k-Spades}{a-Clubs} and after Moreschi checked, Smith bet and was called by both opponents.

As the big bet rounds began with the {4-Diamonds} turn, Moreschi now took the betting lead. Smith folded, but Deeb called to see the river {k-Diamonds}.

Moreschi bet again and was called by Deeb.

Moreschi showed him the nuts each way with {k-Hearts}{k-Clubs}{5-Spades}{3-Clubs} for quad kings and a wheel.

Another Double For Negreanu

Niveau 17

Pot Limit Omaha 8 or Better

Rob Hollink bet 5,000 from early position and Daniel Negreanu moved all in for 21,000 from the button. Hollink made the call.

Daniel Negreanu: {k-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{4-Clubs}
Rob Hollink: {a-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{2-Hearts}

Negreanu could not have asked for a better flop of {k-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} to give him a full house. Negreanu pleaded with the dealer for no low for the remainder of the runout and his wish came true as the {6-Diamonds}{j-Clubs} completed the board to confirm Negreanu's double up.
