Bonomo Doubles Through Petrangelo, Petrangelo Doubles Through Ketzer

Niveau 10 : Blinds 10,000/15,000, 15,000 ante

The flop read {6-Clubs}{5-Spades}{8-Spades} with around 90,000 in the middle. Justin Bonomo had initially checked from the big blind and Nick Petrangelo bet 65,000 from the hijack. In the end all the chips were in the middle with Bonomo at risk for the 395,000 he had behind.

Justin Bonomo: {a-Spades}{2-Spades}
Nick Petrangelo: {9-Spades}{9-Clubs}

Petrangelo had the overpair but Bonomo hat picked up the nut-flush draw.

The rest of the board was completed with the {q-Spades} on the turn and the {k-Hearts} on the river for Bonomo to hit the flush to double up and leave Petrangelo behind with 50,000.

On the next hand, Petrangelo was all-in but chopped a pot with his opponent with the ace-queen they both held.

Another hand later, he was all-in for 60,000 and Felipe Ketzer shoved for more from the cutoff for the rest to fold.

Nick Petrangelo: {a-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}
Felipe Ketzer: {a-Hearts}{10-Spades}

The board ran out {7-Spades}{8-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{7-Diamonds} for Petrangelo to hold with the jack-kicker to double up with.

Fedor Holz
Fedor Holz

Fedor Holz opened to 30,000 from the cutoff and was called by Kazuhiko Yotsushika out of the big blind.

Yotsushika check-called a bet of 15,000 from Holz on a flop of {q-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{a-Clubs}.

The {4-Hearts} turn saw Yotsushika check for a second time and then move all in after Holz pushed 55,000 into the middle. Holz thought long and hard about his decision but eventually opted to call.

Kazuhiko Yotsushika: {8-Clubs}{5-Spades}
Fedor Holz: {k-Clubs}{10-Clubs}

Holz had a sizable lead over his opponent with one card to come and held after the {6-Clubs} found its way onto the felt on the river, ending Yotsushika's tournament run.

David Peters

Picking up the action on the turn, David Peters in the big blind was involved in a hand with Brian Rast from under the gun. With the board reading {j-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{a-Hearts} Peters moved all in and was called by Rast with the covering stack.

David Peters: Two Small Hearts
Brian Rast: {a-Spades}{q-Hearts}

Peters was ahead but would need to fade hearts heading to the river. He was unable to do so as the {2-Hearts} rolled off on the river, prompting another player at the table to remark that "this really is the massacre table". Since Peters was on his second bullet, he will not have the opportunity to re-enter.

Hunichen's Jacks Hold Against Bleznick

Niveau 9 : Blinds 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

Dongwuk Moon raised to 25,000 from under the gun and Jared Bleznick made the call from the hijack. Yong Wang did the same from the small blind but Chris Hunichen three-bet jammed for 302,000 in the big blind. Moon folded but Bleznick shoved for more. Wang considered it for a while but opted to fold with agony clearly showing on his face.

Chris Hunichen: {j-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}
Jared Bleznick: {a-Hearts}{k-Spades}

"You have jacks?!" Bleznick exclaimed.

"What did you think he had? Tens?" someone at the table said.

"No queen!" Wang pleaded as he claimed to have folded {a-}{q-}.

The flop came {j-Spades}{8-Hearts}{10-Spades} to the despair of Wang and the delight of the rest, especially Hunichen as he flopped a set.

The turn was the {k-Hearts} for Bleznick to hit a pair that didn't help as he needed a queen but Wang was even more upset as he would have had Broadway at this point.

The river completed the board with the {5-Diamonds} for Hunichen to secure the double-up.
