Schulman Puts Fritz to the Test

Niveau 3 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante

Nick Schulman opened to 1,000 in the cutoff and was called by Manuel Fritz in the small blind along with the big blind. The flop fell {10-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} and the action checked to Schulman who continued for 900. Fritz check-raised to 3,800 which got the big blind to fold but Schulman called.

The turn was the {8-Hearts} and Fritz tossed in a bet of 5,500. Schulman still called and the {4-Clubs} hit the river. Fritz checked this time and Schulman dropped in a stack of 5,000 chips. Fritz had just over 17,000 chips behind and went into the tank for nearly three minutes before finally releasing his cards.

Dario Sammartino

On a completed board of {10-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}, in his first hand of the tournament, Dario Sammartino was faced with an all in bet from his heads-up opponent, Ben Jones.

After a brief stint in the tank, Sammartino shook his head and set out a stack of chips to call.

Jones did not seem too pleased with the call, as he turned over {a-Spades}{q-Spades} for just ace-high and Sammartino proudly turned over {9-Spades}{10-Spades} for a rivered two pair to win the pot for a big double.
