On a heads-up turn board of 
, James Rann bet 12,000 but then his opponent, Seungyeol Kim, quickly check-raised all in. Rann called and the cards were exposed, with Kim at risk.

Kim was way in the lead with his flopped boat of tens full of threes, which left Rann with only two queen outs to win. However the river 
was not the card he was looking for and Kim received a big double up.
Gary Thompson opened for 2,000 and was called by Andrew Ostapchenko in middle position, Humberto Brenes in the small blind, and Evan Sandberg in the big blind.
The flop came 
and after Thompson checked, Ostapchenko put out a bet of 2,500. Though Brenes called, Sandberg raised to 11,000. Thompson folded, Ostapchenko called, and Brenes got out of the way.
Sandberg and Ostapchenko went heads up to the 
turn and both players knocked the felt.
On the 
river, Ostapchenko flicked a red chip out in front of him and Sandberg called the 5,000-chip bet.
Ostapchenko flipped over 
for the full house and took down another pot.
Rafi Elharar opened to 2,300 and got called by Jason Somerville and Alex Paredes in the hijack three-bet to 7,500. Both Elharar and Somerville called.
The flop fanned 
and the three players checked to see the on the turn. Elharar led out for 8,500 and only Paredes stayed in the hand.
The river fell the 
and Elharar tanked for some time before sending 23,000 in the middle. Paredes ended up folding his hand.
Phil Hellmuth made his initial appearance in the 2022 World Series of Poker Main Event much like in year's past — decked out in a costume. But his arrival on Thursday wasn't met with the usual excitement from the crowd, nor was his entrance as extravagant as in previous years.
The "Poker Brat" showed up for the Day 2abc session in a Darth Vader costume, and few cheered while a number of players inside the Bally's ballroom booed. Most seemed disinterested in the spectacle.
Hye Park, sixth-place finisher in last year's Main Event, bet 3,500 from the button on a flop of 
and was called by Ted Karidis in the cutoff.
Both players checked the 
turn before Karidis led out for 9,000 on the 
river. Park quickly called as Karidis showed 
for a straight to win the pot.
An under-the-gun player opened to 2,300, Patrik Antonius called in early position, and Larry Wright called in the hijack.
The dealer spread the 
flop and action checked to Antonius who bet 6,000. Wright raised to 16,000, the under-the-gun player folded, and Antonius called. Both players checked the turn and river.
Antonius flipped over , but it was no good against Wright's 
for a flopped superior two pair.
