Ce sont finalement 2 641 joueurs qui ont participé au Jour 2 regroupant les rescapés des trois premières journées d'ouverture de l'Event #70 des World Series Of Poker, le Main Event Freezout à 10 000$!
En effet, 148 joueurs ont profité de la possibilité de s'inscrire durant les deux premiers niveaux du Jour 2 pour porter l'affluence du tournoi à 8 209 entrants. Les enregistrements tardifs seront aussi possibles durant les 4 premières heures de jeu dans la nuit de vendredi à samedi pour le Jour Jour 2D. Le record de 8 773 entrants de 2006 ne devrait pas tomber mais le poker est bien vivant !
Après 5 niveaux de jeux c'est Gavin Munroe qui a emergé en tête, seul au dessus du million de jetons même si le Français Karim Rebei n'est pas loin derrière ! Vainqueur WSOP Circuit (pour 158 000$ son plus gros gain en carrière, ndlr) Munroe a terminé avec 1 067 500 jetons. "C'est mon premier Main Event c'est génial, j'ai eu les Rois quatre fois et j'ai éliminé trois joueurs, les bonnes cartes c'est mieux pour deep-run... j'ai accéléré toute la journée", a indiqué le patron de la journée à PokerNews.
Pour sa première participation, Karim Rebei était lui aussi excité de terminer avec 932,000 chips. "C'est un rêve d'être là, je ne réalise pas, j'ai eu tellement de chance aujourd'hui, j'ai aussi passé pas mal de bluffs dont un contre Jason Koon. C'est une grande surprise de vivre de telles expériences", a terminé le tricolore.

La journée a commencé avec l'apparition de Phil Hellmuth qui n'a ensuite pas tenu plus de deux heures jeu. Le Poker Brat est arrivé dans un costume de Dark Vador du pauvre non accompagné, une entrée qui n'a pas fait un succès fou.
Comme Hellmuth, les anciens vainqueurs Joe Cada, Martin Jacobson et Qui Nguyen devront revenir l'année prochaine pour le doublé. Pas plus de réussite pour Stephen Chidwick, Justin Bonomo, Andrew Lichtenberger, Ben Heath ou Kevin Martin.
Ca sera le Jour 3 en revanche pour Ryan Riess (275,500 chips) ou Joe McKeehen (118,000) !
ENceinte de sept mois, Kelly Minkin a rapidement monté son tapis au dessus des 300 000 jetons avant de passer en mode croisière pour terminer avec 363 500 jetons. "Je suis contente de ma journée, les derniers niveaux ont été plus compliqués", a commencé la joueuse avant d'expliquer qu'elle était"soulagée de jouer assise toute la journée et de ne pas avoir à (se) porter, on verra comment ca se passe au fil de sjours mais pour l'instant tout va bien", a expliqué celle qui a déjà été deux fois la meilleure féminine sur ce tournoi.
Ces rescapés reviendront le 9 juillet à 20 heures heure de France pour le Day 3, la bulle devrait être pour le Jour 4. L'action sera en direct sur PokerNews !

Bergeron Calls for His Tournament Life

Eolis Gets It In Good; Can't Fade the Suckout

Wendeen Eolis, in the cutoff, was facing a preflop raise to 16,000 by Zack Brassfield in the big blind.
She took her time before moving all in for about 81,000 and Brassfield called.

Eolis is famously the first woman to ever cash in the Main Event back in 1986 with a 25th place finish. Though she exits here on Day 2, she more than proved that she's still got it.

Wien Goes Boat-Over-Boat to Hit 500,000

Jeremy Wien opened to 5,000 from the cutoff and the big blind called.
The flop came

The turn was a 
and the big blind bet for 6,000. Wien raised to 16,000 and the big blind called.
On the 
river, the big blind checked and Wien put out a bet of 35,000. The big blind went into the tank and eventually raised to 75,000. Wien then put his opponent all in for roughly 100,000 more and the big blind snapped it off.
The big blind turned over for a full house but it wasn't enough as Wien tabled for a better boat to take himself to a half-million and eliminate the big blind.
