Hall Slays the Dragon

Niveau 8 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante
Dan Cates
Dan Cates

An early-position player opened for 2,700 before Daniel Cates three-bet to 8,500. Ryan Hall four-bet to 27,600. Action folded back to Cates.

He thought for a bit, dressed as a fiery-red dragon, he unleashed his power with an all-in bet of 105,000. Having Cates covered, Hall made the call.

Daniel Cates: {a-}{k-}
Ryan Hall: {q-}{q-}

Cates couldn't improve on the runout, queens held, and the dragon was officially slain.

"My mystic powers didn't work this time," said the dragon on his way out the door.

Flush Over Set Knockout

Niveau 8 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

With a board of {q-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{2-Hearts} showing and around 20,000 in the middle, Max Altergott and Jared Hyman checked to Justin Landi who shoved all in for 28,300. Landi received calls for both and was looking at a nice triple up if he was to win the hand.

The river was a {10-Diamonds} and Altergott checked to Hyman who threw out a bet of 30,000 which he folded to.

Hyman flipped over {k-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} to show a flush he hit on the river and Landi showed {5-Clubs}{5-Hearts} for a set of fives but it wasn't enough to keep him in the game.

Daniel Hachem
Daniel Hachem

Daniel Hachem opened to 2,600 from under the gun and was called by Marc Maxey in the cutoff. Edward Grinko three-bet to 13,200 in the big blind and both Hachem and Maxey called.

The flop came {j-Spades}{8-Spades}{6-Clubs} and Grinko continued with a bet of 10,000. Hachem called and Maxey also came along for the ride.

The {8-Diamonds} paired the board on the turn and Grinko checked this time. Hachem threw in a bet of 30,000 which put Maxey in the tank for a minute. He eventually decided to fold and Grinko followed suit as Hachem dragged in the pot.

Perdrix Limp-Raises with Aces, Doubles Up

Niveau 8 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Dirk Perdrix limped from under the gun and the button raised to 3,200. Perdrix then three-bet to 11,000. After about 90 seconds, the button shoved over the top and Perdrix snap-called for 68,800 total.

Dirk Perdrix: {a-Spades}{a-Diamonds}
Button: {q-Clubs}{q-Spades}

The button let out an "of course" after Perdrix tabled his aces, which were soundly ahead of his queens.

The board ran out {3-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{3-Hearts} to give Perdrix a full double while the button was left with around 5,000 chips.

"Just a Jack"

Niveau 8 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Luke Graham raised preflop to 2,500 from the hijack and he got callers from Ana Cintra in the cutoff, the small blind, and the big blind.

The flop was {a-Hearts}{j-Hearts}{9-Clubs} and the blinds checked the Graham, who bet 3,500 and was called by Cintra as the blinds folded.

The turn was the {6-Hearts} and both players checked and they did the same on the {10-Diamonds} river.

"Just a jack," Graham announced as he tabled {k-Clubs}{j-Spades}.

Just a jack seemed to do it as Cintra just stared at her cards for a second before she shook her head and tossed them in the muck.

Kassouf Can't Run Down Ross

Niveau 8 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Cody Ross opened to 3,500 from early position, Will Kassouf made the call on the button.

The flop came out {5-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{2-Hearts}, Ross continued for 4,500.

"I should raise you, but I'm going to call. Let you hang yourself," said Kassouf.

On the turn {6-Hearts}, Ross slowed down and checked.

"Slow down now?" asked Kassouf. "Go on, check and see if you have a heart. I've got a big heart, big heart of a lion. The book says I'm supposed to bet, just trying to decide if I should bet and how much."

He did decide to bet, and it was 7,100. Ross called silently.

The river fell the {q-Spades} and Ross checked one more time. Kassouf checked behind.

Ross showed the {k-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}.

"Kings are good," said Kassouf. "Straight draw and flush draw."
