Thar She Blows! Clark Over a Million on Day 4 with "Captain Jacks"

Niveau 16 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante
Scotter Clark
Scotter Clark

Scotter Clark, once again dressed as Captain Jack Sparrow from the famous movie series Pirates of the Caribbean, opened from early position to 18,000. Anthony Ortega called from the button.

The flop came {k-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} and Clark continued for 20,000. Ortega called.

The turn brought the {5-Spades} and Clark once again applied the pressure, this time to the tune of 31,000. Ortega called once more.

The action came to a halt on the {10-Diamonds} river with both players tapping the table. Clark turned over {j-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}, rhetorically asking "What other hand is Captain Jack going to get with his first hand?".

Jacks were good enough to win the pot and take Clark to over a million.

Moneymaker ran into the aces and couldn't improve, Buzgon turned a set of aces to seal the deal and Moneymaker was sent to the payout line.

"I don't really have a backup plan", shared Moneymaker about his plans for the day. "If I came in with 100,000, I'd have made a backup plan, but I planned on playing longer. I might go hop into the Hall of Fame Bounty."

Speranza Scores Double Knockout

Niveau 16 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

With cards on their backs, Gianluca Speranza was seen scooping a pot, while Andre Barrett and Tyler Hancock were preparing to head to the payout desk. On a runout of {a-Hearts}{9-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}, Speranza held {a-Spades}{k-Spades} in early position for the winning hand against Barret's {j-Spades}{j-Diamonds} in the small blind and Hancock's {10-Spades}{10-Clubs} in the big blind.

Barret had approximately 100,000 to start the hand, while Hancock appeared to have had just a bit more, and both players exited the table to collect a $15,000 min-cash, while the Italian Speranza collected the pot.

Galfond Recipient of Longest Walk Ever

Niveau 16 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante
Farah Galfond
Farah Galfond

Farah Galfond just found herself in an interesting situation in her big blind as she awaited the action of a player in the small blind who chose not to be identified.

Her opponent had significantly fewer chips than she did, and was somewhat short-stacked, but chose not to act when action folded to him.

While players are exiting the tournament rapidly, the next pay jump was still 100 eliminations away, and the clock had to be called on the player.

Eventually, he folded, giving Galfond a walk, but it was certainly an odd situation to start the day.
