Finger Busted by Bhalla Who Thought He Was Done

Niveau 22 : Blinds 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante
Eshaan Bhalla
Eshaan Bhalla

Feature Table B

The action was caught on the {4-Hearts}{j-Spades}{6-Hearts} flop with 165,000 in the middle.

Eshaan Bhalla had checked from the big blind for Martin Finger to bet 100,000 from the middle position. Bhalla shoved and Finger called for the 370,000 he had behind.

Martin Finger: {q-Spades}{j-Hearts}
Eshaan Bhalla: {k-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}

They had both flopped top pair but Bhalla was ahead with the king-kicker.

The rest of the board was completed with the {8-Spades} on the turn and the {a-Clubs} on the river to signal the end of Finger's run in the main event.

Bhalla pushed his stack forward, grabbed his backpack (to the confusion of his table mates), and then looked over confused too.

"I thought he had queens!" and then celebrated a bit with some delay.

Feature Table B

Merijn van Rooij was all-in for his last 245,000 and Bruce Knee had called on his direct left with the bigger stack.

Merijn van Rooij: {k-Spades}{j-Hearts}
Bruce Knee: {a-Hearts}{j-Spades}

The board ran out {2-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{4-Hearts} for Knee to hold with the ace-kicker and the pair of jacks they had both flopped. Van Rooij quietly made his way out of the feature table area

Baumann Busts to Barfield

Niveau 22 : Blinds 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante
Gaelle Baumann
Gaelle Baumann

Feature Table A

Gaelle Baumann raised to 60,000 from the early position and Andrew Barfield three-bet to 170,000 for the action to fold back to Baumann who four-bet shoved for 665,000. Barfield quickly called with the bigger stack.

Gaelle Baumann: {a-Hearts}{k-Spades}
Andrew Barfield: {k-Hearts}{k-Clubs}

The flop came {6-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{q-Hearts} to keep Barfield ahead but Baumann picked up the gutshot to a Broadway.

The turn was the {k-Diamonds} to give Barfield a set and the river completed the board with the {6-Spades} to not help Baumann as she was eliminated.

Brant Jolly
Brant Jolly

Feature Table C

Damian Salas raised it up in middle position and Brant Jolly shipped all in for 610,000 on his left. The action folded back to Salas who quickly called to put Jolly at risk.

Brant Jolly: {a-Hearts}{q-Spades}
Damian Salas: {9-Spades}{9-Clubs}

Once the cameras were ready, the dealer spread the flop of {k-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{7-Spades} to give Salas a set of nines. Jolly was in tough and the {4-Hearts} on the turn left him drawing dead to the {4-Clubs} on the river.

Schindler's River Overbet Gets Picked Off

Niveau 21 : Blinds 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante
Jake Schindler
Jake Schindler

The full board of {9-Spades}{8-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds} was out between Jake Schindler and Evan Krentzman.

Schindler, who won his first bracelet earlier this summer, had bet 400,000 into a pot of only 235,000.

His opponent Krentzman had then shoved for around 1,000,000 chips, putting Schindler all in.

Schindler tanked, muttering to himself, before the clock was called. As the seconds were counted down he folded and was left with around 20 big blinds as the end of the level approached.

Cruel River Busts Bond

Niveau 21 : Blinds 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante
Matt Bond
Matt Bond

Matt Bond recapped his bust out hand to PokerNews. He recalled that the middle position player opened to 55,000 and was called by the cutoff. Bond called with the {10-Clubs}{9-Diamonds} in the big blind.

Bond flopped a straight on the {q-Hearts}{j-Hearts}{8-Diamonds} flop and check-raised to 260,000 after middle position continued for 80,000. The cutoff mucked but the middle position player called.

Bond fired for 440,000 on the {4-Spades} turn and his opponent jammed for 1,300,000. Bond quickly called for his tournament life.

The middle position player had the {8-Clubs}{8-Spades} and then filled up on the {j-Clubs} river to oust Bond from the Main Event.

Duczak Springs Into the Lead After Cracking Aces

Niveau 21 : Blinds 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante
Aaron Duczak
Aaron Duczak

A completed board of {8-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{4-Hearts} was spread across the felt with a fairly large pot between Elliott Kampen and Aaron Duczak already taking place. Kampen threw in a bet of just over 500,000 on the river and Duczak ripped all in.

Kampen wasted little time before making the call and the cards were tabled. Duczak turned over {7-Clubs}{7-Diamonds} for a full house while Kampen held {a-Spades}{a-Hearts}. After the chips were counted, it was deemed that Kampen was the player at risk for around 2,000,000 chips.

After scooping a monstrous pot on Day 5, Duczak has now put himself in the pole position at the top of the leaderboard.

Jack For Jackie

Niveau 21 : Blinds 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante
Jacqueline Burkhart
Jacqueline Burkhart

Jacqueline Burkhart, who just moments before had said she was needed in Oregon tomorrow for work and would therefore need to run up a stack today to make it worth staying in the tournament, opened to 55,000 from the cutoff. The player in the small blind called while Matthew Bushell in the big blind moved all in. Burkhart called off for her tournament life and the small blind folded.

Jacqueline Burkhart: {10-Hearts}{10-Clubs}
Matthew Bushell: {a-Hearts}{k-Clubs}

"We're flipping," announced Burkhart as she took out her phone to film the proceedings. The flop came {q-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}{a-Diamonds}, propelling Bushell into the lead. "Jack for Jackie!" chanted Burkhart as she looked for an improbable comeback. No help came on the {9-Hearts} turn but the {j-Diamonds} rolled off on the river to grant Burkhart her request and keep her tournament run very much alive.

Lococo Puts Wien To The Test

Niveau 21 : Blinds 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante
Alejandro Lococo
Alejandro Lococo

Jeremy Wien opened to 60,000 from the cutoff and was called by Alejandro Lococo on the button. Both blinds got out of the way to send the two players heads-up to the flop.

Wien checked on a flop of {2-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{4-Diamonds} and then called when Lococo led out for 50,000.

The turn came {q-Spades} and Wien checked for a second time. Lococo was in no mood to slow down and fired off another bet, this time sizing up to 155,000. Wien responded with a raise to 360,000, prompting Lococo to stand up and look over his opponent's stack before deciding on a call.

On the {3-Hearts} river Wien pushed 470,000 into the middle. Lococo once again rose to his feet, pondering his decision. He then sat back down and, with a deep breath, announced all in. Wien immediately appeared uncomfortable, removing his earphones and lowering his hood before saying, "I can only beat a bluff".

"Ace-Queen?" queried Lococo. "Close" Wien responded before going over the hand out loud. "You really have five-six?" Wien probed. "You're gonna show me if I fold?" Lococo remained stoic, offering no answer to either question. Eventually, Wien tossed his cards into the muck, handing a big boost to Lococo's stack early in the day.
