Johnson Outflips Tong To Score Knockout

Niveau 28 : Blinds 60,000/120,000, 120,000 ante
Kristopher Tong
Kristopher Tong

Kristopher Tong opened to 1,350,000 from middle position leaving himself just 30,000 behind. Marco Johnson then moved all in out of the small blind and Tong tossed in his few remaining chips to put himself at risk.

Kristopher Tong: {a-Clubs}{k-Spades}
Marco Johnson: {9-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}

"I haven't been all in this entire tournament," remarked Tong as he prepared to flip for his tournament life. The {9-Hearts}{j-Spades}{3-Diamonds} flop immediately left Tong drawing extremely thin although he did pick up a gutshot to broadway on the {10-Clubs} turn. The {6-Spades} river bricked out, however, sending Tong to the rail.

Updated Counts on Table 616

Niveau 28 : Blinds 60,000/120,000, 120,000 ante

Jorge Hou raised to 260,000 from under the gun and James Hobbs then three-bet to 750,000 in the cutoff, which won the pot uncontested.

One hand later, Seungmook Jung made it 250,000 to go and Damian Salas pushed all-in for what appeared to be 2,635,000. Jung shook his head and said "too much", sending his cards into the muck while Salas smiled, raked in the pot and joked "short stack ninja!".

Su Picks Off Dobric

Niveau 28 : Blinds 60,000/120,000, 120,000 ante

Matthew Su raised to 250,000 from the button as big stack Matija Dobric defended in the big blind.

The flop came {6-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{q-Hearts} and Dobric checked over to Su, who continued for 200,000. Dobric called, then lead out for 280,000 on the {2-Hearts} turn.

Su called as the river came {7-Hearts}. Dobric this time tossed out a bet of 120,000 and Su snap-called.

Dobric showed {8-Hearts}{6-Clubs} for a pair of sixes, but Su had him beat with {9-Diamonds}{9-Hearts} to take a bit off Dobric's massive tower of chips.

The action started with a min-raise to 240,000 by Vadim Rozin and Asher Conniff then three-bet to 700,000. Rahul Rastogi four-bet jammed for 1,635,000 and Rozin folded while Conniff asked for an exact count to then call.

Rahul Rastogi: {j-Spades}{j-Clubs}
Asher Conniff: {a-Clubs}{j-Hearts}

Thanks to a board of {5-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}, Rastogi held onto his preflop lead and secured the double-up.

"Nice hand, I should have had ace-queen to knock you out ... you are a tight player," Conniff said in table chat.

Wilson Doubles With Aces

Niveau 28 : Blinds 60,000/120,000, 120,000 ante
Austin Wilson
Austin Wilson

Austin Wilson had gotten his stack in preflop on the button and was at risk against Tyler Hirschfeld in the hijack.

Austin Wilson: {a-Spades}{a-Hearts}
Tyler Hirschfeld: {j-Spades}{j-Clubs}

The {a-Clubs}{k-Spades}{2-Spades} flop improved Wilson to top set, and the {9-Hearts} turn secured his double, as the {j-Diamonds} river gave Hirschfeld a meaningless inferior set.

"There it is, naturally," said Hirschfeld.

Niveau 28 : Blinds 60,000/120,000, 120,000 ante

Robert Reed shipped all in for 685,000 in early position and Aaron Mermelstein called from the small blind. The big blind folded and the two hands were tabled.

Robert Reed: {a-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}
Aaron Mermelstein: {a-Spades}{8-Spades}

The flop came {k-Hearts}{j-Spades}{9-Spades} and despite flopping a pair of nines, Reed had a sweat with Mermelstein holding a flush draw. The {3-Diamonds} turn and the {2-Hearts} river were both bricks giving Reed a double up.
