Rebei Leaves Funaro Frustrated

Niveau 26 : Blinds 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante

Frank Funaro and Karim Rebei went heads-up to the turn on a board of {8-Hearts}{7-Spades}{q-Hearts}{6-Clubs}. Funaro, in the big blind, bet 160,000 before Rebei raised to 525,000.

Funaro called to see the {q-Diamonds} on the river and quickly checked. Rebei checked behind.

"King-high," Funaro said as he slammed his cards on the table after Rebei turned over {j-Clubs}{8-Clubs} for two pair, queens and eights.

"I didn't put you on a queen, actually," Rebei told Funaro as he stacked up the pot.

Rahim Finds Ace to Double

Niveau 26 : Blinds 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante
Muhammad Abdel Rahim

Muhammad Abdel Rahim jammed from early position for his 645,000 chips and Pierre De Almeida called on the button.

Muhammad Abdel Rahim: {a-Clubs}{q-Hearts}
Pierre De Almeida: {k-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}

"Ace-queen is supposed to be a good hand," was heard from the table, just as the dealer spread the {a-Spades}{10-Hearts}{5-Hearts} flop to vault Rahim into the lead. The {8-Clubs} turn and {4-Clubs} river failed to provide a king, securing the double for Rahim.

John Eames
John Eames

Down to the last 620,000 Ramiro Petrone shipped it in from the hijack and was looked up by John Eames in the cutoff for the following showdown to emerge.

Ramiro Petrone: {4-Hearts}{4-Clubs}
John Eames: {k-Spades}{k-Diamonds}

There was no help for Petrone on the {10-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}{10-Spades} board as the superior pair held and ensured the next knockout for Eames.

Moon Runs Into Big Slick

Niveau 26 : Blinds 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante

Benjamin Moon open-jammed all in for 595,000 in early position and the action folded around to Philippe Souki in the big blind. After looking at his cards, Souki quickly called and Moon was at risk.

Benjamin Moon: {a-Spades}{q-Clubs}
Philippe Souki: {a-Hearts}{k-Clubs}

The flop of {j-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{2-Hearts} provided no help to Moon who started to rise from his seat. The {2-Spades} on the turn gave some chop outs but the {k-Hearts} on the river sealed Moon's fate as he awaited a payout.

John Eames
John Eames

Artem Suhak opened to 175,000 in middle position and John Eames three-bet to 550,000 in the cutoff. Action folded back to Suhak who moved all in for 2,550,000, and Eames quickly called.

Artem Suhak: {a-Spades}{q-Clubs}
John Eames: {q-Spades}{q-Hearts}

The {9-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{7-Hearts} flop changed nothing as the {j-Spades} turn left Suhak needing to spike a river ace, but the {4-Clubs} completed the board to eliminate him, while Eames collected the pot.

Krentzman Doubles Through Zhang

Niveau 26 : Blinds 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante

Evan Krentzman opened to 160,000 from under the gun and was three-bet to 1,290,000 by Zilong Zhang out of the big blind. Krentzman, with less than that behind, made the call for his tournament life.

Evan Krentzman: {a-Hearts}{q-Spades}
Zilong Zhang: {a-Spades}{8-Diamonds}

Krentzman had his opponent dominated and was in a good spot to get the full double. The {q-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{5-Spades} flop propelled Krentzman into an almost unassailable lead with the {6-Spades} turn sealing the deal prior to the meaningless {10-Clubs} river. Zhang has had a rough start to the day, beginning near the top of the leaderboard but now sitting with a below average stack.

Tong Puts Da Silva in the Tank

Niveau 26 : Blinds 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante

Picking up the action on the turn with the board reading {a-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}, Kristopher Tong and Chris Da Silva were heads-up in a pot with around 1,400,000 in the middle.

Tong shoved all in from the big blind for 1,320,000 which put Da Silva deep into the tank. As the camera crews arrived, it put more pressure on Da Silva who was having a hard time deciding what to do.

"I wish all these cameras weren't here," Da Silva said. After four minutes in the tank, Da Silva finally laid down his hand and Tong collected the pot.

Gisler Gives Zhang Rope

Niveau 26 : Blinds 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante

Zilong Zhang opened to 175,000 from early position and received a single call from Jon Gisler out of the big blind.

The flop came {k-Clubs}{10-Spades}{7-Spades} and Gisler checked to Zhang, who continued for 235,000. Gisler made the call to send the two players to the turn.

Gisler checked for a second time on the {j-Diamonds} turn and again called after Zhang continued his aggression with a bet of 765,000.

The {8-Spades} river put a four liner to a straight on the board. Gisler checked one more time and Zhang, as if it was ever in doubt, fired off a third barrel, this time pushing a hefty 2,300,000 into the middle. Gisler called and turned over {j-Spades}{9-Clubs} for the straight, good enough to sink Zhang's holding and scoop a large pot.
