Niveau 26 : Blinds 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante
Damian Salas
Damian Salas

Damian Salas was all in for 2,170,000 and up against Seungmook Jung.

Damian Salas: {j-Clubs}{j-Spades}
Seungmook Jung: {a-Spades}{4-Hearts}

The {4-Clubs}{8-Spades}{6-Clubs} flop gave Jung a pair, but he improved no further as the board ran out {9-Hearts}{7-Clubs}. The 2020 Main Event champion loudly clapped his hands as he secured a double up.

Cervantes Holds to Double Through McDermott

Niveau 26 : Blinds 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante

Rudy Cervantes and Timothy McDermott got all of their chips in the middle preflop and it was Cervantes at risk for around 1,750,000. The cards were tabled and they were off to the races.

Rudy Cervantes: {10-Spades}{10-Hearts}
Timothy McDermott: {a-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}

The flop came {7-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{2-Spades} and Cervantes was still out front with his pair of tens. The {9-Clubs} on the turn changed nothing and McDermott was down to six outs.

"Barry Greenstein one time!" McDermott cheered, hoping for the classic ace on the river. However, it was the {4-Clubs} that completed the board and Cervantes survived elimination.

Zhang Crashes And Burns Out Of Contention

Niveau 26 : Blinds 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante
Zilong Zhang
Zilong Zhang

Zilong Zhang opened to 200,000 from middle position and was called by Cedrric Trevino in the big blind.

Trevino checked on the {5-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{j-Spades} flop and then raised to 470,000 when Zhang continued for 180,000. After some thought Zhang called.

The {6-Clubs} turn saw Trevino take over the betting lead, firing off 1,640,000, enough to force Zhang all in. After tanking for nearly two minutes, Zhang called it off to put himself at risk.

Zilong Zhang: {7-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}
Cedrric Trevino: {a-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}

Zhang was in bad shape as many of his potential outs were covered by Trevino holding a club. The river bricked out {k-Diamonds}, ending what has certainly been a memorable main event journey for Zhang, though one that will inevitably be tainted with disappointment considering he came into the day with nearly double the tournament average.

Weis Knocked Out by Rebei

Niveau 26 : Blinds 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante
Oliver Weis
Oliver Weis

A raise to 300,000 was in front of Karim Rebei in the small blind and Oliver Weis then made it 1,200,000 to go from ane arly position. Rebei pushed all-in with the slightly superior stack and Weis called for around 4,800,000.

Oliver Weis: {10-Clubs}{10-Spades}
Karim Rebei: {k-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}

"I take a king on the river ... or maybe on the flop," Rebei joked right before the flop fell {k-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}. Nothing changed on the {a-Spades} turn and the {2-Hearts} river to send a gutted Weis to the payout desk.

At almost the same time, Timothy McDermott was also eliminated as the field was reduced further.

Serge Chechin: {a-Clubs}{q-Spades}
Gabi Livshitz: {9-Diamonds}{9-Spades}

Guenni Falls to Levine

Niveau 27 : Blinds 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante

Mikael Guenni returned from the break as one of the short stacks and found himself all in for just under 1,000,000. He was called in two spots by Jon Gisler and David Levine.

The flop came {a-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}{6-Clubs} and Gisler checked to Levine who tossed in a bet of 425,000. Gisler quickly folded and the remaining two hands were tabled.

Mikael Guenni: {3-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}
David Levine: {8-Spades}{8-Clubs}

Guenni was in search of one of the two remaining threes in the deck. The {4-Spades}, {8-Hearts} runout provided no help and Guenni was eliminated.
