Wells' Fairytale Run Comes To An End

Niveau 27 : Blinds 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante
Shelby Wells
Shelby Wells

Shelby Wells moved all in for her last 1,380,000 from middle position and was looked up by Victor Li out of the big blind.

Shelby Wells: {j-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}
Victor Li: {a-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}

Though behind, Wells did have two live cards. The {q-Spades}{j-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} flop immediately had Wells with one foot out the door but the {7-Spades} turn did keep her drawing live. The miracle runner-runner was not to be, however, as the {8-Spades} hit the felt on the river to end Wells' impressive run. With her elimination, the honour of last woman standing in this year's main event can be bestowed upon Efthymia Litsou, who is still going strong with over 12,000,000.

Rebei Ousts Ramsey With a Straight Flush

Niveau 27 : Blinds 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante
Karim Rebei
Karim Rebei

Nicholas Ramsey was all in for around 1,300,000 from the cutoff and up against Karim Rebei in early position.

Nicholas Ramsey: {a-Spades}{q-Hearts}
Karim Rebei: {9-Spades}{8-Spades}

"We should be the feature table," a tablemate said about yet another all in at this table.

The {q-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{5-Spades} flop had something for everyone, giving Ramsey top pair and Rebei a straight flush draw. The {7-Spades} on the turn completed his straight flush as the entire table gasped and took out their cameras to capture the board.

The river came the {10-Spades}, improving Rebei to a higher straight flush as Ramsey hit the rail.

Eames Finds River Call

Niveau 27 : Blinds 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante
John Eames
John Eames

With over 2,500,000 in the pot on a {10-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{3-Hearts}{2-Diamonds} board, Lander Lijo checked in middle position and John Eames checked in the cutoff.

The dealer put out the {9-Spades} river and Lijo bet 1,550,000. Eames went into the tank and looked simultaneously uncomfortable and relaxed as he received a massage. After more time for deliberation, he put in the calling chips.

Lijo could only flip over {a-Clubs}{q-Clubs}, while Eames tabled his {7-Clubs}{7-Diamonds} to claim the pot and move further up the leaderboard.

Duek Takes From Lavenburg in 10 Minute Hand

Niveau 27 : Blinds 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante

There was already more than 2,000,000 in the flop as Michael Duek and Michael Lavenburg saw the {10-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{3-Clubs} flop in a blind versus blind confrontation.

Both players checked through to the {5-Diamonds} turn when Lavenburg led out for 800,000. Duek called as the river came the {9-Hearts}.

Lavenburg went into the tank for several minutes before a player at the table called the clock on him. He checked, then Duek took his time before putting out 1,700,000.

Lavenburg again tanked for several minutes as the clock was called once more. As the countdown reached zero, he threw in the chips to call as Duek showed {j-Clubs}{9-Clubs} for a rivered pair of nines to take the pot that lasted around 10 minutes.

Kim Scores a Double Knockout

Niveau 27 : Blinds 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante

Brian Kim raised to 205,000 from middle position and Michael Rocco three-bet shoved for 785,000. Andrew Ostapchenko shoved his own stack of around 3,100,000 and Brian Kim called. Action was three ways and both Ostapchenko and Rocco were at risk.

Michael Rocco: {k-Clubs}{j-Hearts}
Andrew Ostapchenko: {q-Hearts}{q-Clubs}
Brian Kim: {a-Hearts}{k-Hearts}

The board ran out {a-Clubs}{8-Spades}{8-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{2-Diamonds} and Kim made aces and eights to score the double knockout and send Rocco and Ostapchenko to the rail.

Chan Felted by Jung

Niveau 27 : Blinds 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante

In a preflop all-in contest between two of the shorter stacks in the field, it was Edmund Chan at risk against Seungmook Jung and the following cards were revealed.

Edmund Chan: {a-Spades}{10-Diamonds}
Seungmook Jung: {a-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}

The {9-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{3-Spades} flop kept Chan with some back door outs and he asked for a "spade for a sweat". That wish was denied but he picked up chop outs with the {4-Hearts} turn. However, the {j-Spades} river was a blank and that spelled the end for Chan.

Levy Finds an Ace on the Turn and Gets Paid

Niveau 27 : Blinds 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante

Tzur Levy opened to 215,000 from under the gun and Rudy Cervantes three-bet to 600,000 on the button. The blinds folded and Levy called to see a flop of {7-Spades}{5-Hearts}{3-Hearts}.

Levy checked to Cervantes who continued with a bet of 550,000 and Levy called. The turn brought the {a-Diamonds} and both players checked to the {8-Spades} on the river. Levy led out with a bet of 1,700,000 this time and Cervantes snap-called.

Levy flipped over {a-Clubs}{k-Diamonds} for top pair top kicker and Cervantes had to muck his cards.

Sabat Doubles Through Gostisa

Niveau 27 : Blinds 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante

Earlier on, Eddy Sabat had seen his kings cracked by ace-jack and would now try to achieve the same feat when he open-shoved for 970,000 from an early position and was called by Rok Gostisa in the small blind.

Eddy Sabat: {a-Spades}{j-Clubs}
Rok Gostisa: {k-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}

The {j-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{7-Spades} flop gave Sabat more outs and he indeed improved on the {j-Diamonds} turn and the {a-Diamonds} river to make jacks full of aces.

Rosa Flops Two Pair to Double Up

Niveau 27 : Blinds 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante

Mikiya Kudo raised to 200,000 on the button and Jonathan Rosa ripped all in for 1,715,000 in the big blind. Kudo asked for a count and then eventually called to put Rosa at risk.

Jonathan Rosa: {k-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}
Mikiya Kudo: {a-Hearts}{9-Spades}

The flop came {k-Spades}{q-Spades}{2-Diamonds} and Rosa took a stranglehold on the hand with two pair. The {7-Diamonds} on the turn left Kudo drawing dead to the {4-Hearts} on the river as he sent over a double-up.

Madan Out-Flops Neiman

Niveau 27 : Blinds 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante

On a flop of {k-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}, Philip Neiman bet 1,300,000 and Mayank Madan shoved all in from under the gun.

"Here we go," Neiman said as he committed his last chips, turning over {a-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}. Madan, though, showed him {k-Clubs}{8-Clubs} for flopped two pair.

The board ran out {10-Clubs}{9-Hearts} and Neiman stood by his seat taking a picture of his bustout board before heading for the exit.
