Kim Dives Deep Into the Think Tank

Niveau 34 : Blinds 250,000/500,000, 500,000 ante

Philippe Souki opened to 1,100,000 in the cutoff and Brian Kim three-bet to 2,800,000 on the button. The blinds folded and Souki called to see a flop of {6-Spades}{5-Spades}{5-Diamonds}.

Souki checked to Kim who bet 3,350,000 and Souki called. The turn brought the {7-Clubs} and both players checked to the {k-Hearts} on the river.

Souki reached back for a bet of 6,600,000 on the river which put Kim in the tank. Over five minutes later, Kim finally pushed his cards to the muck and Souki collected the pot.

Tran Doubles Through Mermelstein

Niveau 34 : Blinds 250,000/500,000, 500,000 ante
Kenny Tran
Kenny Tran

Aaron Mermelstein opened to 1,000,000 from early position and received a single call from Kenny Tran out of the big blind.

Action checked through the {j-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{q-Hearts} flop to the {8-Clubs} turn where Tran checked for a second time. Mermelstein led out for 500,000 and Tran responded with a raise to 2,500,000. That raise did not appear to phase Mermelstein, who flatted.

Tran moved all in for his last 3,630,000 on the {7-Diamonds} river, sending Mermelstein into the tank. Eventually, he decided on a call but was unable to beat Tran's {q-}{8-}, handing the bracelet winner a full double.

Eames Successfully Jams Up His Stack

Niveau 34 : Blinds 250,000/500,000, 500,000 ante

From under the gun, John Eames made it 1,000,000 to go and Asher Conniff three-bet to 2,600,000 in the very next seat once 40 seconds had passed. The action then folded to Karim Rebei in the big blind, who required 53 seconds before he let go.

Eames, likewise, went into the tank for 73 seconds and then moved all-in for 12,200,000 to force an instant fold by Conniff.

Setna Doubles Through Kim; Leaving Him Short

Niveau 34 : Blinds 250,000/500,000, 500,000 ante
Jimmy Setna
Jimmy Setna

After Brian Kim raised to 1,050,000 from the hijack, Jimmy Setna moved all in for a bit over six million. Kim made the call to put Setna at risk.

Jimmy Setna: {a-Hearts}{7-Hearts}
Brian Kim: {q-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}

The flop came {8-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}, bringing Setna a few more outs with his seven. The turn {6-Clubs} provided some chop outs, which Setna said he'd happily take.

His boisterous rail however called for an ace for all of it for their man, and the dealer then dropped the {a-Diamonds}, sending Setna out of his seat in jubilation as he doubled up and left Kim on a very short stack.

Brian Kim
Brian Kim

After losing a big pots just moments earlier, Brian Kim shoved all in for 5,150,000 from middle position. Jeffrey Farnes called on the button and Robert Welch came along from the big blind.

The flop fell {10-Hearts}{9-Spades}{5-Spades} and both players checked through to the {7-Clubs} on the turn and the {q-Diamonds} on the river. Welch checked for the third time but Farnes finally announced a bet 5,200,000. Welch quickly folded and the last two hands would be shown.

Farnes tabled {a-Hearts}{q-Clubs} for a pair of queens on the river and Kim packed up his bags as he turned over {a-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} before they went into the muck.

Eames Essentially Doubles in Bizarre Clicking War With Rebei

Niveau 34 : Blinds 250,000/500,000, 500,000 ante
John Eames
John Eames

Karim Rebei raised it up to 1,400,000 in the small blind with the {9-Hearts}{6-Spades} and was called by John Eames in the big blind, who reluctantly came along with the {3-Spades}{3-Diamonds}. What followed was the {k-Spades}{k-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} flop on which Rebei checked after almost a minute and nearly identical time was spent for consideration by Eames, which then led to a bet worth 850,000 with his full house.

Rebei was having none of it, mulling over his next move for more than a minute, then raised it up to 2,000,000. Some one and a half minutes later, Eames three-bet to 3,500,000 and Rebei then used another minute before clicking it back to 5,500,000.

The call by Eames followed and they headed to the {4-Spades} on the turn with more than ten minutes already spent during the click-back war.

Time moved as slowly thereafter but with fewer twists as Rebei bet 3,275,000 and Eames called as they headed to the {a-Diamonds} on the river. Rebei now bet 4,500,000 with complete air and then instantly folded his bluff when Eames pushed all in for just 5,250,000 total, only 750,000 more into a massive pot but with zero equity on a stone cold bluff.

Setna Jams on Diaz

Niveau 34 : Blinds 250,000/500,000, 500,000 ante

David Diaz raised to 1,000,000 from middle position and was three-bet to 3,200,000 by Jimmy Setna in the big blind.

Diaz was quite demonstrative in his decision-making, tilting his head back and forth as he weighed his decision and counting his chips before cutting out a call.

The flop came {3-Hearts}{7-Spades}{9-Clubs} and without much hesitation, Setna moved all in for a bit under 7,000,000.

Diaz didn't take long before picking up his cards and dropping them in front of the dealer, sending the pot to Setna.

Tzur Levy made it 1,000,000 to go in the cutoff and was called by Asher Conniff in the big blind. The {k-Diamonds}{k-Spades}{10-Hearts} flop was check-called by Levy for 500,000 and the {2-Spades} turn was checked by both.

After the {8-Hearts} river, Conniff bet 2,400,000 and Levy called but couldn't beat the {k-Hearts}{9-Clubs} for trips kings by Conniff.
