Day 2 of Event #13: $600 Pot-Limit Omaha Deepstack Kicks Off at 10 AM

Day 2 of Event #13: $600 Pot-Limit Omaha Deepstack here at the 2023 World Series of Poker will resume at 10 a.m. PDT. Day 1 attracted 3,200 players and they were whittled down to just 117 hopefuls who will return to Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas this morning for their crack at WSOP glory and a bigger share of the $1,632,000 prize pool.

Aaron Ang claimed the chip lead after bagging 2,765,000 on Day 1. He is joined in the top five at the start of the day by Giorgiy Skhuluhiya, Soheb Porbandarwala, Marek Rous, and Paul Fehlig.

Other notable players remaining include Shaun Deeb (1,265,000), Brandon Shack-Harris (955,000), Greg Raymer (675,000), and 2021 Main Event champ Koray Aldemir (640,000).

All remaining players have secured at least $1,773, but will all have their sights set on the first-place prize of $217,102 and the gold WSOP bracelet that comes with it.

When play kicks off, they will play 30-minute levels with a 15-minute break after every four. Play will continue until a winner prevails. The clock will restart at Level 23, which features blinds of 15,000/30,000/30,000 big blind ante.

On the turn of K97, Koray Aldemir was in the small blind and check-called a bet of 75,000 from Matthew Grocholsky in the big blind.

The 3 hit the turn and Aldemir checked once again to Grocholsky, who fired out a bet of 180,000. Aldemir took a few seconds before announcing all in for about 540,000, which was quickly called.

Aldemir had run into a set of nines with his top pair double gutshot straight draw and couldn't catch up as the J completed the board on the river.

Donavan Roussell raised to 460,000 from the button and Shaun Deeb defended his big blind.

The flop came 6109 and Deeb opted to check. Roussell shoved for around 1,230,000 for Deeb to tank for a bit before reluctantly making the call.

Roussell was ahead with the flopped flush as Deeb had hit a two pair.

Michael Holmes reraised to 1,250,000, pushing the rest of the players out of the hand and both hands were tabled.

The 876 flop gave Beyer a pair of sixes, but he was behind to the pair of sevens of Holmes. The 8 hit the turn and the Q landed on the river giving both players two pair, but Holmes eliminated Beyer with his queens and eights in 21st place.

The flop came 1055 to keep Hickel ahead.

The turn was the 8 for Deeb to hit a full house.

"That's a great card for you," Hickel commented.

"Oh, but that's a great card for me," Hickel added while rapping the table as Deeb made his way out of the tournament area.

The final sixteen players racked up their chips and then made their way to their new seats on the final two tables.

The 10 hit the turn and both players quickly checked. When the J hit the river they checked once more. He tabled A933 for nines and sixes but ultimately lost to Ufano's KK102.

The following hand, Noah Goldman raised to 550,000 in the cutoff and Jorge Ufano three-bet to 2,075,000 from the big blind which was enough to take down the pot.
