Not Enough Blockers

Niveau 9 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante

On a three-way flop of 635, Tom Klee led out for 3,500 and received calls from Mario Concepcion and Tim Quinn.

On the turn 2, Klee fired again for 6,600 and Concepcion moved in for the 400 he had left.

Then Quinn decided to raise it up to 25,000 and the pressure was now on Klee.

"Ugh, I hope you have a set or the straight," he sighed as he made the fold and the cards were tabled.

Mario Concepcion: QQ
Tim Quinn: 44

"Wow, straight AND the blockers," someone ad the table said, mentioning Quinn's hand.

Quinn pretty much had the hand locked down with his straight versus Concepcion's overpair, but the
miracle 4 smacked down on the river to put a straight on the board fo the players to chop.

"Wow, are you kidding me right now?" Quinn asked in disbelief as half of the pot was shipped to his opponent.

Lentz Looking For Another Deep Run in a Huge Field

Niveau 9 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante
Paul Lentz
Paul Lentz

Paul Lentz raised to 6,500 preflop from the cutoff, and received a call from the player under the gun who had previously limped in.

The flop came 642 and Lentz bet 13,500 in response to his opponent's check. His opponent then went all in with a slightly larger stack and Lentz called. "I hope you didn't hit me with a set," Lentz said.

Under the Gun: 1010
Paul Lentz: QQ

Lentz' bigger overpair survived the 26 runout, and Lentz doubled up.

Lentz has had success in large field tournaments, having cashed in the four biggest WSOP fields to date. His best run came in the 2015 Colossus event, where he earned $234,927 by finishing fourth out of a 22,374-entrant field. As this event could potentially field over 20,000 entries, Lentz is looking to go deep in a fifth event of this size.

The 7K3 flop left Kuhn in bad shape. The 8 turn brought no help but the miracle Q gave Kuhn the card he needed to get the pure double.

Loch Lucks Out

Niveau 10 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

PokerNews missed the action, but was relayed the info by the player involved:

The middle position player open-shoved for 28,000, to which Bryan Loch in the hijack re-shoved over the top for 32,000. The action then folded to the button, who quickly made the call to put the other players at risk and the cards were tabled.

Middle Position Player: AxJx
Bryan Loch: 4x4x
Button Player: AxAx

"Well, maybe I can flop a four and fade the one-outer," Loch said as he saw what he was up against.

And just like that, a four appeared on the flop and he ended up making a full house on the river to scoop the pot of 98,000 for the big triple-up.

Rodriguez Survives Against Three

Niveau 10 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Frank Rodriguez moved all in preflop under the gun for his last 13,000. A player in early position called, as did the hijack. The small blind then raised all in for 33,000, and both of the other players called.

"Wow, I must be drawing dead!" said Rodriguez. Both of his opponents that still had chips in front of them checked down the 8410K2 board. Rodriguez showed KJ and was surprised to see that his hand was good, having beaten out the small blind's AJ, the hijack's A2, and his other opponent's AQ.

There was a middle position open to 4500 when Jonathan Pardy three-bet jammed for 35,000. The action then folded to the small blind who did some accounting and cold four-bet jammed covering both of his opponents. The original raiser folded and the cards were on their back.

Jonathan Pardy: JJ

The dealer burned and turned the 325 flop and Pardy held the lead. The A turn changed nothing and the 3 river gave Pardy the full double.
