Lawson's Suited One-Gap Hand Cracks Aces

Niveau 6 : Blinds 300/600, 600 ante

Table #74 saw heavy action before the flop with a series of raises.

A player in early position raised to 1,600. The player on the button three-bet to 5,000, leaving 20,500 behind.

The player in the small blind folded, leaving Zak Lawson as the last to act. Lawson leaned forward to look at the player on the button remaining stack. Lawson then four-bet the action 13,000, which was more than half of the button’s remaining stack. Lawson’s bet prompted the player in early position fold, but player on the button moved all in, and Lawson called.

Lawson: Q10
Opponent: AA

Lawson was behind when the dealer placed 686 on the board, but then the poker ran out 7 on the turn and J on the river to give Lawson a running flush, which sent his opponent to the rail.

Battistone Jams Into Altman

Niveau 6 : Blinds 300/600, 600 ante

Brian Battistone raised and earned a call from the player on the button. Brian Altman three-bet out of the big blind and Battistone called. The 872 flop brought a check-call from Altman and he did so again on the 7 turn when Battistone bet 18,000.

After the 6 river, Altman checked once more and Battistone jammed for the 52,700 he had behind. Altman asked for an exact count and eventually folded.

Davis' Aces Sends Opponent’s Kings To the Rail

Niveau 6 : Blinds 300/600, 600 ante

The action started off innocently enough, as a player in early position raised to 1,300, which prompted folds all the way to Chase Davis, who was in the big blind.

Then the fireworks began.

Davis peeked down at his hand, and then leaned back in his chair. After a few moments, he leaned forward, glancing at his opponent before re-raising to 5,200.

His opponent didn’t hesitate and re-raised all in, which Davis covered. The opponent’s all-in bet prompted an immediate call from Davis.

Davis: AA
Opponent: KK

The dealer ran out 78487 on the board. Davis’ pocket aces held and he sent his opponent to the rail.

On a four-way flop of 1096, Jason Kelp bet 1,500 and was called by Kristofer Kneale in the small blind. Justin Belforti check-raised to 5,200 with around 12,000 behind and that forced out Kelp.

Kneale then pushed all-in and Belforti called it off with the inferior stack.

Justin Belforti: Jx8x
Kristofer Kneale: 66

Kneale was ahead with bottom set against the open-ended straight draw but fell behind on the Q turn. However, the Q river paired the board and that sent Belforti to the rail.

Shing Scoops Big Pot

Niveau 5 : Blinds 300/500, 500 ante
Philip Shing
Philip Shing

Philip Shing put maximum pressure on his opponent on the river.

With J4J37 showing, Shing moved all in for 42,800, which his opponent barely covered.

After his opponent asked for a count, Shing sat still and looked down at the table as the dealer counted out the chips to verify. The action paused, as his opponent leaned back in her chair.

Up to a minute passed before the opponent called and Shing tabled QJ for trip jacks. His opponent counted out 42,800 and separated them from her stack before pushing them forward for the dealer to give to Shing.

The win proved profitable for Shing, who now has 145,000 in front of him, but devastating for his opponent, who was left with 6,500 after the loss.
