Ludlow Chips Up Against Gumz

Niveau 4 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante

Fabian Gumz opened to 1,000 in the cutoff and he then called a three-bet to 3,100 by Ben Ludlow from one seat over. On a flop of Q83, Gumz check-called for 2,100 and led the 9 turn for 4,000, earning a call from Ludlow.

They checked the 8 river and Gumz briefly announced his hand but mucked the cards upon being shown the 1010.

Hinkle’s Check-Raise Gets Through

Niveau 4 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante

Blair Hinkle was in the big blind and facing action on a 983 board.

After Hinkle checked in the big blind, a player under the gun led out with 1,600 and was called by a player in middle position and the player on the button.

Hinkle then check-raised to 6,000, which got two players to fold.

The button, however, took his time to study the board. He took a few moments before peeking down at his cards, and then mucked his hand to give Hinkle the hand and much-needed chips as play enters Level 4.

Shylko Vanishes in Two Hands

Aliaksandr Shylko
Aliaksandr Shylko

On the river of a J9525, Aliaksandr Shylko pulled the trigger and all but moved all-in while keeping 400 chips behind. Brian Battistone looked him up and both cards were exposed. The KJ of Battistone won the pot as Shylko had missed the nut flush draw with AQ.

With a smirk on the face, the Belorussian was then all-in the next hand and faced a raise to 1,200 as well as the call by Nicolas Gola in the big blind. Gola check-called for 1,500 on the 877 flop before the 10 turn was checked. Gola bet the 2 river to isolate and showed his 99, which beat Shylko's K8.

Perry Nearly Doubles; Vecchio Very Short

Niveau 4 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante

In the last hand prior to the break, a four-way flop of 654 emerged on which Tony Miles bet 1,100. Ralph Perry raised to 4,400 and James Vecchio called out of the big blind while Miles and the fourth player folded.

Perry bet 10,000 on the 10 turn when checked to and Vecchio check-called. That led them to the 5 river on which Vecchio bet 20,100. Perry called and Vecchio tapped the table in defeat, tossing the cards into the muck with the words "I missed my clubs" before asking Perry if he had flopped a straight.

One week into the 2023 World Series of Poker (WSOP) and there's already a clear-cut favorite for Player of the Year.

No, it's isn't Shaun Deeb, Daniel Negreanu, or Phil Hellmuth, although all those three individuals are certainly capable of winning the prestigious award. The poker player we're talking about is Chad Eveslage, and his red hot start this summer is no fluke.

Magnotti Scores a Knockout

Niveau 3 : Blinds 200/300, 300 ante

A short stack had been all-in blind after the stack was reduced to fumes right before and he was looked up by Joseph Magnotti and Kou Vang. It checked around to the KJ3KK river on which Magnotti bet. Vang folded and Magnotti tabled the A3.

"What do I need to beat, just a three?" the at-risk player inquired and he then flashed his Q8 before heading to the rail.
