Arends Sends the Players to Another Break

Jans Arends limped in from the small blind with 4♥4♦ and Leon Sturm raised to 1,000,000 in the big blind with A♠10♠. Arends called with the pocket pair and the dealer fanned the flop of K♥9♦2♥.

Both players checked to the 8♣ on the turn and the 5♣ on the river. Arends checked once more with the small pair and Sturm checked it back with ace-high, sending the pot to Arends.

After the hand, the three players went on another 15-minute break.

Leon Sturm limped in from the small blind with 10♠5♦ and Bill Klein checked his option holding J♣9♣. an action flop of 10♥10♣3♣ was spread across the table but players opted to check for now.

The J♠ landed on the turn and Sturm led out with a bet of 1,000,000. Klein called and the Q♣ spiked on the river. Sturm fired out another bet of 1,000,000 and Klein raised to 3,500,000 after making a flush.

Sturm mulled it over for a minute and then paid off the raise. Klein tabled the flush and established himself as the clear chip leader in this three-way battle.

Klein wasted little time before mucking his bottom pair and Sturm escaped disaster to survive another hand.

The flop of 8♠K♦6♠ checked through and the same action took place on the 8♣ river. Klein checked once more on the 2♠ river and Sturm bet 1,400,000 with his top pair. Klein laid it down.

Arends led out with a bet of 1,800,000 with his flush draw but Sturm stuck around for the 7♠ on the river. Arends announced all in on the river with just king-high and Sturm dumped the best hand into the muck.

Arends Falls to the Short Stack

Leon Sturm raised to 800,000 on the button with A♣4♥ and was called by Bill Klein in the small blind with Q♣7♣ and Jans Arends in the big blind with Q♦10♣.

The flop came Q♥6♥3♠ and the action checked around to the Q♠ on the river. Klein checked again and Arends announced a bet of 800,000. Sturm stepped aside but Klein just called.

The river was the 7♥ and Klein led out with a large bet of 4,100,000 after making a full house. With no time extensions for Arends, he had to make a quick decision and paid him off. Klein tabled the full house and vaulted to a big chip lead.

The turn brought the 10♠ and both players checked to the 10♥ on the river. Klein fired out a bet of 1,000,000 on the river and Arends flicked in a call. Klein turned over his pair of jacks and Arends was left on the short stack again.
