Players have gone on an impromptu 7-minute break and will return at 6:20 p.m.
Chad Holloway and Jesse Fullen go head-to-head talking about the latest hot topics live from the WSOP. Isaac Haxton wins his first WSOP bracelet, Chad Eveslage takes the lead in the 2023 WSOP POY race, and more in the fourth episode of The Chad & Jesse Poker Show.

Five-time bracelet winner and 1998 Main Event Champion Scotty Nguyen will miss the first half of the 2023 World Series of Poker (WSOP) as the Vietnamese-American poker icon recovers from surgery.
Nguyen, always a fan-favorite of WSOP, took to Twitter earlier this week to announce he was undergoing surgery for slipping rib syndrome, a condition that can cause severe chest pain in addition to "a slipping, clicking, or popping sensation in the lower chest," according to an article published in Psychopharmacology Bulletin.
But it's not all over, baby. Nguyen tweeted today to let his fans know that the surgery was a success and that he hopes to recover in time for the second half of the WSOP.

“I want to let you guys know the surgery (recovery) is going so well," Nguyen said in a video. "Right now, on both sides (it) is sore and swollen and I have trouble to get in and out of bed. But I have my wife, Julie, she (is) right there to help me sitting up or standing up.”
“I love all of you, baby. See you in the second half at the World Series in Vegas.”
Dan Smith opened in the cutoff and action folded to Masashi Oya in the big blind who moved all in for 750,000. Smith quickly called to put his opponent at risk.
Masashi Oya: 2♦2♠
Dan Smith: A♦K♦
It was essentially a flip but Smith pulled into a commanding lead on the K♥8♥Q♦ flop. The 8♠ turn changed nothing but Oya spiked the 2♥ on the river to double and survive, leaving Smith short.

Action folded around to Seth Davies in the small blind, who moved all in, covering Adrian Mateos. For the past few orbits Mateos had not been receiving many playable hands and he was already committed to about half of his stack by posting the big blind and ante. Mateos made the call to put himself at risk.
Adrian Mateos: 8♦3♥
Seth Davies: Q♠9♠
The board ran out 6♥10♥10♣2♥6♦ and Mateos was knocked out of the tournament while Davies added to his stack.

Picking up the action after the flop, Dan Smith in the big blind was involved in a hand with Anton Morgenstern from under the gun. With the board reading 9♣4♠2♠ Smith checked to Morgenstern, who jammed. Smith, after thinking for some time, called off with the effective stack to put himself at risk.
Dan Smith: 9♠8♦
Anton Morgenstern: J♠10♠
Smith was ahead with top pair but would need to fade his opponent's many outs. The Q♥ turn gave Morgenstern an open ended straight draw to go along with his flush draw and two overs with the K♠ river bringing in the flush to send Smith to the payout desk in 14th place.
