Daly Gets Short; Chen Chips Up

On the tail end of a J855J board, Kyle Cartwright bet out of the big blind and Jason Daly called with a short stack behind. Cartwright tabled the QJ96 for trips jacks and Daly mucked, exposing AAx1010x for a brief second.

Shortly after, James Chen raised in the hijack and James Obst called in the cutoff. Chen check-raised the 976 flop and called a tree-bet by Obst, which led them to the 9 turn. Both checked and did so again on the K river. Chen tabled the A854 and scooped the pot.

Cartwright Adds Chips Without Showdown

Kyle Cartwright raised it up from middle position and was called only by James Chen in the big blind. On a board of 98383, Chen check-called the first two streets and then checked again the river. Cartwright bet the third and final barrel, this time forcing a fold from his opponent.

Three Quarters for Chen Against Kerbel

Picking up the action on the 5427 turn, Jay Kerbel check-called a bet by James Chen and then checked again the J on the river. Chen bet and Kerbel sigh-called to get shown the AJ52. Kerbel exposed his AK75 and received one quarter only.

"Give him three quarters, I don't want to touch those chips," Kerbel murmured but touched them a few seconds later anyways to facilitate the chop of the low portion.

Cartwright Wins One; Velador Scoops Four-Way Pot

James Obst raised and called a three-bet by Kyle Cartwright in the cutoff. On the 952 flop, Obst check-called and then check-folded the 4 turn to a second barrel.

Shortly after, Jay Kerbel raised and received no fewer than three callers in Luis Velador, James Chen and Obst.

The Q85 flop was checked to Kerbel and his bet was called three ways. Chen then bet the 9 turn out of the small blind, earning a call from Velador only. The A fell on the river and Kerbel sighed visibly. Chen checked and Velador bet to force a reluctant fold from Chen, resulting in even more agony for Kerbel.

Becker Chips Up Without Showdown

Jay Kerbel lost a small portion of his short stack to Luis Velador when the latter bet the K52 flop.

One hand later, Johannes Becker raised and Kyle Cartwright three-bet on the button for the German to call. They headed to the Q87 flop on which Becker check-called a bet. Both checked the 7 turn and Becker bet the ]2h] river, forcing out Cartwright.
