Niveau 2 : Blinds 200/300, 300 ante
Thomas Cazayous
Thomas Cazayous

Thomas Cazayous opened from late position to 800. Next to act in the cutoff put in the cold three bet to 1,800. The action folded back to Cazayous who thought for about a minute before putting in a large four bet to 7,000. The cutoff made the call.

The Q26 flop hit the felt and Cazayous down bet to 3,500. Again, the cutoff made the call.

The 3 landed on the turn and Cazayous opted to slow down and check. The cutoff looked to be considering a bet but ultimately thought better of it and knuckled back.

The 8 on the river saw Cazayous put out one more bet of 7,000 and after some thought the cutoff made the call.

Cazayous quickly tabled QQ for top set and the cutoff mucked.

Cazayous chips up in a big way early on.

Beck Makes Dream Start

Niveau 1 : Blinds 100/200, 200 ante

The details of this hand were relayed to PokerNews by players at the table. On the very first hand of the day, a player opened to 600 from under the gun and received a single caller in the form of Phil Beck out of the big blind.

Beck checked following the 22A flop and the initial aggressor continued for an undisclosed amount. That did not dissuade Beck, who made the call.

The turn came J prompting Beck to check for a second time. His opponent did not slow down, instead firing off what was described as a "medium sized bet". Beck responded by making a small raise, only to see the under-the-gun player respond by reraising. The button clicking did not stop there, with Beck moving the rest of his stack into the middle. He was promptly called and the hands were tabled.

Under-the-Gun Player: AA
Phil Beck: 22

Beck had hit a miraculous flop to leave his opponent drawing extremely thin heading to the river. The 10 completed the board, handing Beck a full double to start his tournament while sending his opponent out in cruel fashion.
